Mystery quilt is complete, and sewing machine drama

The mystery quilt is complete!  Yahoo!!!  I ended up putting a border on it, at my husband's request.  I am delighted with it!!!

There is a free quilt along going on via Facebook, and I made this block yesterday, quilting along.  It makes a great center block for a quilt.

My sewing machine is malfunctioning, so it goes to the Bernina store today for a diagnosis and spa treatment.  Hope this patient (machine) will live, and it is nothing serious!!

I like that block! Can you share the name of the Facebook group doing the quilt along?

Your mystery quilt is gorgeous, as is your QAL block. Is there anything more frustrating than machine troubles? Hopefully it will be humming along smoothly again very, very soon!

Bravo for a wonderful finish! I like the solid border on the quilt. Fingers crossed your machine just needs some pampering.

Excellent border choice. It really makes the quilt extra special.
That is a lovely block.
I have to say, when your sewing machine does come home from the "spa", if it still isn't feeling its best, at least it is coming home to a wonderful nurse!! LOL

Congrats on finishing Chilhowie! It looks even better with the border. Pretty QAL block. My Bernina (440 QE) is at the spa too. Been there for one week, UGH!

Ooo, your mystery quilt is fabuloso!! Love that purple border--nice ZING. UGH, I just picked my machine up a week or so ago--it was EXPENSIVE! Hope no major problem when the machine guy dives in there.

I think the choice to add a border to Chilhowie, and the way you executed it were beautiful choices. The perfect finish.
Can you please tell us/me what Facebook group you're part of that's making that beautiful block?
I hope the problem with your sewing machine is a simple fix and that you get it back soon. When in the midst of sewing a quilt it's hard to be without a machine for very long.

Oh your Chilhowie turned out great. I would have added a border too, I think. No, I didn't join in, too many other projects in progress!
Very pretty new block, too.
Hope your sewing time keeps bringing joy.

Love our scrapy quilt, it came out beautifully. Well done. Thank you for the tip about the mini vacuum. I ordered one from Amazon. I had little attachments to attach to my big vacuum, but it was so clumsy attaching them with a big hose. I think this little vac is going to work perfectly. It's amazing really, how much gunk can accumulate in that bobbin area. Have a great day. Michele

Hexies, rainbow quilts and plaids!

Good morning to all!!!  Above is a hexagon, for English paper piecing.  My kitten Lucky has discovered them, and decided that they are great...
