Oh, I love your setting for the mystery quilt much better than the original! I saved all the steps and now am going to have to remember this should I ever make it. The skinny sashing just didn't do anything for me. Good job!

I love your version of the mystery too. I am still making the first block with the pinks and working on the hourglass blocks. I would be interested in the baby HST's too but I see someone else has expressed interest. I am glad you showed your mystery as a straight setting so I could decide if I wanted to do it that way. Your version of Bonnies' quilt is very beautiful. I really love yours so much more. I had saved the downloads, but deleted them when I saw the final picture of her quilt. I just didn't like it at all. I should have waited until you posted yours. Great job!
I do like your setting much better than the original one. That skinny sashing didn't add to the quilt at all. I didn't do the mystery this year but saved all of the clues in case I change my mind. Or in case I find some free time...
What a lovely and cheerful mystery quilt! The yellow makes me think of buttercups, a favorite wildflower. buttercups among the rhododendron :-)
I also am thinking about changing Bonnie's design. I've got the blocks and I'm trying to decide about the sashing. I like how yours turned out.

Those Clown's Choice blocks make the setting look so lacy. When I read the pattern instructions for the setting blocks my heart sank. Thanks for showing the variation.
