The Secret...

You may remember this quilt made of scrap/crumb 1/2 square triangles and silly flowers, which I love.   As usual, I got stuck on the borders, and into the quilt abyss it went!  (the quilt closet)
It is time to finish up all these border-less quilts!!  So...I made a border of strings and away I went!!
Black print squares in the corners...
and black borders around the flowers, so that kind of goes together.
Here is the whole thing!  I like the light strings in the borders...they kind of sparkle!
t
The quilt grew feet!!!  Hee!!!

By the way?  The secret to life????  ready??

Is string borders!!  I have never made one that I don't like, and plan to finish several of the remaining quilt tops this way!  And will use up my remaining strings, so win/win!

So...aren't you glad you know the secret to life???

SNORT!!!

Have a great day!

Julie

I should have known there was a string attached to the secret of life! Hahahaha! I hope I will remember it now that I know! It could work on a few (lots) of my UFOs. Thanks for sharing Julie. I love the light string in the border too. It does sparkle! Congrats on the beautiful progress. ;^)wtg

Snorting my coffee at that! I am most charmed by the light scrappy sashings around each HST. It makes them shimmer to me, a really pretty effect. Congratulations on redeeming a top from the scary quilt closet!

Strings certainly worked on this quilt!

Haha, Julie, and it looks terrific. Maybe I should try it--but I don't save strings. Another scrap to sort and save is too exhausting to consider at this point 😋

You quilts are always fun! And lovely! I wonder what some of these quilters who do not save strings do with them. I hope they have friends that would love them. Have a happy autumn!

P.S. My strings and scraps go in a big plastic bushel unsorted. I never know what I will pull out. But alas the bushel never gets empty!!!
