Hand Quilting

This quilt idea was from Lori of Humble Quilts quilt along, a few years ago.  I just now got it all hand quilted, and bound.  I have a chance to do hand work in the car, on trips, so I took advantage of that time.  Thank you, dear Lori, for the wonderful quilt along!!!

I am having an awful time concentrating on any one thing!!  Anyone else in this boat?  I have tons of fun ideas spinning through my head, but just between work and house keeping and other stuff, I am not making tons of progress on anything!!

Hope each of you has a wonderful day!!

Julie

But you do so much! I have to fight to get any quilting done. Don't know why, I am retired. Guess I feel I should be doing something else. Love all your quilts and your nurses' stories. Check your blog everyday.

Pretty quilt. I do understand about finding the time to quilt.

The quilt is beautiful!! My mind races all the time too... the difference is, you still get stuff done. I don't. :) :) :)

I'm like you too. I have 5 or 6 tops waiting to be quilted and I'm in a dither deciding what too to piece next......

My crafting seems to stall when it's hot, and it's definitely been hot.

It's lovely! I'm usually really productive this time of year. The humidity (and mold) are so bad that I have to stay inside.

I love your version! I'm starting to sound like a broken record but we need another employee so I can have more time off to sew!

An absolutely charming quilt! while I don't hand quilt, I admire those that do. I seem to travel in creative bursts of energy that crash & burn into no energy, and then cycle back into the creative space again.

Yes I am on that boat! Got too many projects started lately and not really progressing let alone finishing any of them! Not to mention I keep seeing things I want to start also! Still I always think it is nice to have a few options to choose when you do have time to sew, because different projects suit different moods - or circumstances. Enjoy your hand quilting.

I love each choice you made in this quilt, from the drooping tulips and crossed star flowers to the pinwheels and stars and the great border.
And, hand quilted! I am impressed!

The pinwheels to an optical illusion to broken dishes--fun!!

WOW! I love this quilt. I was not a blogland visitor back in 2010 so I missed this great quilt from Lori. Such a beautiful job you did. I love the star flowers. Awesome job you did. I LOVE it!! I need to teach the boys how to cook so I have more time in front of the sewing machine and less in front of the stove. I also need to stop looking at Pinterest lol. ;^)

What a beautiful medallion quilt. It's a wonderful finish. Good thing there aren't any time limits in quilting. My buzzer would be going off all the time too.

Not sure where to put this question , but I'm new here. I saw a ninepatch in a churn dash that you posted back in 2011. I love it and am wondering what size are your blocks? Do you have instructions for it anyplace? thank you Bonnie...bln1924@yahoo.com

I know what you mean - I can't just work on one thing. Different days, different moods, different priorities. With lots of projects underway, I figure everything just trundles forward a little at a time. Once in a while I make a big push on one of them if it's close to finishing, but even then I don't worry too much about it. I'm more about process than product, so the journey is the part I enjoy.
Though I love seeing other people's finishes! 8) Well done, you!

Focus on one project at a time? It will never happen! Love your finish. I have a handquilting UFO that really needs to come out of the closet! XO

I still have the border to do on the same design. Come to think of it, I still have the border to do on three or four quilts. I seem to bog down at that point.

Yes... I've a quilt, hooked rug, cross stitch, wool applique and a punch needle all in progress... and yes, I found time to shop for more projects too! :-) All in good time... life is good!

Beautiful!!!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
