This is the block...just a nine patch, really, with some 1/2 square triangles too.
And Terry is having another quilt along!! I joined right in. I am using 2.5 inch squares instead of charm squares, because that is what I have on hand to use...so here is my start! See Terry's blog and her start too HERE!
I found some heart rocks in Alaska. Different minerals, and each a different shape for sure.
A view of the Alaska Glaciers from Seward, from a whale watching boat. Yes, I saw a whale!!
And a couple bull moose!! They were amazing...and they live in Denali National Park. Huge creatures!!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I have been cutting lots of scraps into usable pieces for scrappy quilts. That is great fun...and more fun once I changed my rotary cutting blade, LOL!!

Did you see my leader/ender in the same HST pattern with I Spy prints? Addicting!!
Yummm I love split 9 patch and scrappy ones are even more attractive. Looks a fun little sew-a-long. Wonderful pictures of your vacation. Thanks for sharing and happy sewing.
Love is in the air! that scrappy number is awesome. it must have been wonderful to the moose.
A trip of a lifetime!! Glad you had a good birthday. My Dad served in the army in Alaska & loved the land and all the magnificent animals.
LOL~ Why do we do that to ourselves? Sometimes I cut until the blade is so dull my wrist gets sore applying enough pressure to cut. Once I finally change the blade I always wonder why I wait so long.
I really like Terry's SAL pattern, but I'm trying to resist adding another project to my plate. Yours will be very cute at 1/2 size.
Love the heart rock collection!
When I was in college, I worked one summer about 30 miles outside Yellowstone Park. We were on a dirt road about a mile off the highway and we had to be very careful about the moose population. They may look slow and unaware, but you do not want to rile them--especially a mama with her young!
I love the layout of that first quilt. I love your first charming stars block too...your quilt is going to be wonderful done in miniature! :0)
That's a scrappy block I haven't made, but it's going right to the top of my list!! I love it!! Thanks for more pics from your Alaska trip.
Thanks for the temptation!!
Couldn't resist Terry's Scrappy Stars...........
Love your split 9 patch ... it's on my list. Love your Alaska pictures.
great nine patch variation - it looks like it would be really fun to play with. I may have to give it a try!
Cute workings! Oh my...did you have to share about another QAL?! I simply have other things going and love your size block! Sigh....
Envious you got Alaska! Someday...maybe...
Oh, you are going to have lots of fun in the SAL! Love your Alaska pictures - I want to hear more about your trip! Cool rocks that you found!
It's always fun to play with scraps! I really like the top layout.
I admire your dedication to your quilting. Keep it up.
You have some great scrappy projects going! I am so glad you got to see a whale and some moose while you were here, it would have been a disappointment to come all this way and not get a chance to see some of our wildlife! I just have too many projects right now to join Terry's Sew-Along, but I will enjoy watching your progress. Great idea to make it a smaller size.
Your scrappy projects will be fun to put together. I do the same thing about rotary blades. Why?! Your heart collection is pretty sweet. You'll have to keep your eyes open for more.
Fun projects you are working on.
I better get Alaska on my bucket list. I love the outdoors and wildlife!
