Overtime days!!

Happy Tuesday!  I was lucky and got an overtime shift yesterday.  A busy day, and I was floated, but I am happy to have gotten the day.  Above is a start...a quilt that was in my mind all last year!  I have two rows cut out, and these above blocks are stitched.  This is Country Threads block of the month from last year.  I find that I like to have the whole pattern/or all the BOM kits, and then I can just go for it! (Thanks, Elaine Adair, for that bit of wisdom some years ago...)
I have finished hand quilting and binding these mug rugs.  A fun, portable project.
And...another estate sale!  Our neighborhood has had three in three weeks!!  I found this little tiny rocker...is it meant to be a pin cushion?  Ideas?  I would like to recover the little cushion part...
And a vagues photo of a string hot pad.  Take the tiniest slivers, mash them all up, press them down firmly with lots of starch, and then just sew over the top until it all melds together!  I was cutting neutrals, so that is why it is made of neutrals!!!  So that is what I have been up to, which is not really too much...

Have a great day, everyone!!

Julie

I have two rockers made out of tin cans that were my great grandmothers, but I don't think they were ever pin cushions, however, in the past couple of months, I have found two that are pin cushions!

Sweet pin cushion. Is it marked on the bottom or sides in the metal?
Thanks for sharing!

Odd to hear of so many estate sales this time of year. I should make more effort to get to these sales! You scored!

Those plaid blocks really call my name. : )
What fun mug rugs (they even look great on a wall).

The mug rugs are so cute! I always wondered why you would need one and a friend gave me one and I love it!
The sampler quilt is off to a good start.
The rocker looks like you could make it into a pin cushion really simply. Passing stuff around the neighborhood still? ;)

Pretty plaids! Your mug rugs are too cute too. I think the little rocker would be a perfect sewing room addition!

I had that little rocker when I was a child. The seat was covered with red velvet - very elegant!! Wonder if I still have it in a box somewhere - lol!

I think I am falling in love with your new project. That look quilt is on a very good start to be GOOOORRRgeous. And the little rocker (so cute) does need a pin cushion and a rug too! You know with strings and maybe cut it in an oval shape? I remember grandma always had oval rugs under her rocking chairs. It would make such a cute display. Very good purchase Julie. Love it.
Thanks for sharing.

Julie, I love those mug rugs! Especially the one with the hearts and flying geese. Very sweet.

Hope you have a great day.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
