Leaders and Enders Spool quilt!

A couple years ago, I made this spool quilt.  Honestly, I had the best intentions of making a leader and ender quilt...but!
You know how those leaders and enders take hold and make noise and want to be the life of the party!! LOL! The main focus!!  I enjoyed hand quilting this quilt, and it is displayed in my living room.  A dear friend exchanged some of these little spool blocks with me...thanks Joan!
I ended up with a plain border on my Lisa's flower garden quilt.  I made several attempts at a pieced border, and fussed and fretted...and this fabric won out.  I plan on hand quilting this one too.
Do you like these little houses?  This pattern is by Pam Buda.  I love her designs!!
To celebrate this day (it is Wednesday...and there is no other reason!  Seize the day!), I am giving away this kit to make this pretty house quilt.  Just leave me a comment, and I will draw for it next week.

Have a great day, everyone!!!

Julie

Love, love bow tie quilt, Julie.

The border on Lisa's flower garden is perfect.

I usually lurk because I love to see what you're doing. Please don't enter me in your drawing - that's definitely not why I'm here. LOL

Julie, I would LOVE to win this drawing. I want to make some little quilts and that house pattern would be perfect.

Your spools and flower garden are wonderful. I agree the solid border brings you back to the center where all the work is done on the flower garden quilt. I'd be happy to win! Great pattern and perfect fabrics...Sandi

I'm still plugging away on the wacky web blocks. Got 4 more done. Have varely made a dent in the string box!
When are we going to have a stitch together? You know, McDonald's has plug outlets, and we could take feather weights.Their frozen coffee aren't bad either.

Your flower garden quilt is perfect! I know I've already said that several times, but I think I love it more each time I see it. I am a fan of house blocks - especially red ones - it's my favorite color and I live in a red house! Thanks for the chance to win!

Sherry said...

I tried to enlarge the picture of your spool quilt to see how you quilted it but it didn't work. Did you use an all over pattern or quilt each block individually? (I'm always curious about how people do their hand quilting.)

The garden quilt is lovely. . . .I must get a better handle on my applique skills!

Have a wonderful day,

Sherry

Hello Julie, I love, love, love the little houses! They are just too cute. Thanks for the opportunity to enter in the giveaway. The border you have put onto your quilt looks just perfect, and I love the spools. I have a leader/ender project which has been barking at me from the shadows to become my main focus. I am resisting it furiously as there are a couple of things I just have to finish first. LOL

Firstly - please DON'T add me to the draw for the house pattern! I love houses, but I don't need a distraction right now, lovely though it is.

But, I did want to say how much I like your spool quilt and the border you chose for your other quilt. You continue to be so productive! Keep up the good work :)
