The red border is the absolute best choice...your stars just pop! Also love your medallion quilt...awesome!
Ahhh, red is my neutral; I love it! Now maybe a deep maroon border, almost black? Or maybe a medium green on green? Time to audition from the stash! Such fun to visit you.
Great choice for the scrappy stars, it looks fabulous!!! Also love your medallion quilt too, it's coming along beautifully. Just saw Lori's applique border on her blog, and it adds such a nice frame!! I look forward to see what you choose!!!

Oh boy I like the way you added the large border on the outside without having another smaller border to break it up...I'm going to audition that on my medallion too....mind if I steal your idea?

Julie, both of those quilts are totally adorable.
What a great story about your mom. I'd love to see some of her quilts. Sounds like you have some to share!! And the red binding is awesome. LOVE IT. Can't wait to see what you do with our little sew-a-long! And if you're short on scraps, I would be happy to send some your way!! :-)
Poor lonely 2" squares. They need friends.
Out of squares? Time to tackle the scrap basket. You'll be full again before you know it. Love the red border! Definitely looks like it all goes together now.
Add water and fertilizer and the scraps will grow.
LOVE the scrappy with red border! Someday someone will be wondering about your quilt! Who was this quilter who loved color so much! Look at all the wonderful scraps! You have left a legacy!
