Hi to everyone! I have been contemplating this nine patch quilt, and have settled on this arrangement. The nine patches are strip pieced, with some individually pieced blocks too. The pink is a favorite batik. I was hoarding it...but why? Use it up! (note to self) Rosie the poodle was intent on rearranging these blocks, thus the ragged edges, so I took pictures quickly!

Closer!
And now for some fun! Red Brolly is offering a beautiful free Christmas stitchery pattern! Here is my first block...it is of course different than the pattern. Fun, fun, fun! Thank you!
Julie

Adore your nine patch layout with the pink fabric! It really sings! My cat likes to slap around anything laid on "his" floor so I have to put him out into is enclosed patio and shut the door when I'm laying quilt blocks on the floor! He just wants to add creative input.
How beautiful. I even see a few scrappy ones in there!
Love it so much, and yes now you can adore that pink all the time instead of just in the stash!
I'm loving your colors and layout.
Love your design, your color choice, just beautiful!
Very pretty..i may have to borrow your idea...is that ok?
Another beauty, Julie, I love the humble nine-patch and the batik really pops your blocks. :) Your Red Brolly stitchery is wonderful, girlie.
Love the pink and the setting for your 9 patches!!! It's going to be another terrific quilt!
Ah, red and white...beautiful!
What a fun quilt. May have to add this to the list.
Your nine patch quilt looks fabulous laid out like that! :0)
I like the layout you selected. From a distance, I would not have guessed the pink was a batik. I have some pieces of fabric (all from the same line) that I use small bits of only as I want it to last a long time.
Love the layout & the pink is sweet.
Oh, that is going to be lovely!
I agree. The pink is a great choice to highlight those terrific nine patches. It's going to be very eye catching.
I think you did a great job choosing colors and layout for your 9-patch. It is beautiful, Julie!
As always I love seeing what you're up to over there!
Love the alternating light square round and then a pink round...so beautiful!
ANd the red brolly blocks are gorgeous too!
Awww, the nine patch is adorable! The pink really makes it! I love the red Christmas blocks too!
Oh yeah, pink was the perfect choice for the nine-patches!
Love what you're doing with the 9-patches! :-)
Julie, I made a 9 patch quilt with small blocks like yours about 7 years ago. I thought I liked mine until I saw yours. That pink is wonderful!! Your whole quilt just sings! I love it - wish I would have thought of the alternate colored squares. Keep up the good work, your so inspiring!

I am not a batik lover but I sure would hoard that pink one too. That quilt is gorgeous!
Oh this is looking fabulous!
Thanks for the Red Brolly news I'll have a peek over there next ;0).
Happy Sewing
your nine patch looks amazing all laid out
Yes...Yes! A great layout!!!
A fabulous looking nine patch. I don't use batiks, but that pink batik you've used is wonderful, and really makes the quilt so unique.
Really great setting choice! Lots of vibrant action and color. A happy quilt it will be :)

Gorgeous! Love the nine patches and pink!
This quilt will be just beautiful.
Will visist again and see it when finished.
I have my own small box of 9 patches, my own loved batiks. This makes me want to dig them out and use them! I love the way it looks.
Such a fab idea - do you just make a stack from scraps as you go along?
I'm a whole month behind! I love this nine patch! The nine patch is my all time favorite block and this setting is so pretty.
