Nine Patch Trip!

Hi to everyone!  I have been contemplating this nine patch quilt, and have settled on this arrangement. The nine patches are strip pieced, with some individually pieced  blocks too.  The pink is a favorite batik.  I was hoarding it...but why?  Use it up! (note to self)  Rosie the poodle was intent on rearranging these blocks, thus the ragged edges, so I took pictures quickly!
 Another view...
 Closer!
And now for some fun!  Red Brolly is offering a beautiful free Christmas stitchery pattern!  Here is my first block...it is of course different than the pattern.  Fun, fun, fun!  Thank you!

Adore your nine patch layout with the pink fabric! It really sings! My cat likes to slap around anything laid on "his" floor so I have to put him out into is enclosed patio and shut the door when I'm laying quilt blocks on the floor! He just wants to add creative input.

How beautiful. I even see a few scrappy ones in there!

Love it so much, and yes now you can adore that pink all the time instead of just in the stash!

Another beauty, Julie, I love the humble nine-patch and the batik really pops your blocks. :) Your Red Brolly stitchery is wonderful, girlie.

Your nine patch quilt looks fabulous laid out like that! :0)

I like the layout you selected. From a distance, I would not have guessed the pink was a batik. I have some pieces of fabric (all from the same line) that I use small bits of only as I want it to last a long time.

Julie, I made a 9 patch quilt with small blocks like yours about 7 years ago. I thought I liked mine until I saw yours. That pink is wonderful!! Your whole quilt just sings! I love it - wish I would have thought of the alternate colored squares. Keep up the good work, your so inspiring!

A fabulous looking nine patch. I don't use batiks, but that pink batik you've used is wonderful, and really makes the quilt so unique.

I have my own small box of 9 patches, my own loved batiks. This makes me want to dig them out and use them! I love the way it looks.

Such a fab idea - do you just make a stack from scraps as you go along?
