Frog-stitchin'!!!

Alrighty then!! Thanks to all you nice ladies who very nicely told me...YOU DID YOUR BLOCKS WRONG, SILLY GIRL!! I took all the black blocks apart from last post, and am in the process of doing them correctly. I am on my THIRD attempt, having put them all together wrong...again! I have no idea, after piecing things for years and years...I am having a tough time with this! My fabrics are getting a little ragged...yet I will persevere! LOL!

Have a great day,

Julie

LOL - having to re-do a third time ranks right up there with what I did on Monday ... I ripped out an entire row of blocks (7-10" blocks = 1 row) because I thought I had the orientation wrong, only to realize after I had the row of blocks ripped out that they were sewn correctly. The top is completed and I've begun quilting it, so all's well that ends well, right? ;-)

Oh, Julie, I can understand why you did it--you want it "right," but I really liked your blocks. And who knows--you may have had the coolest quilt on the blog block. (And you may still.) : )

I thought it looked very nice the other way. I can't wait to see the affect once you change them. Poor thing!

Every way you've had them has looked good to me:)

I rather like them the wrong way! LOL But good for you doing all the unpicking and resewing! I don't think I would have!

I've heard that spray starch and ironing will "revive" fabric pieces that are getting raggy from "frogging" them. Good luck with your project! (I probably would have left them wrong and done my own thing!!!)

Ok....it might not have been the correct placement for THIS quilt....but I really like the effect those blocks had with the opposite blocks! It's a very cool design! Hmmmmmm!

hey, Julie - I did mine wrong, too! Only a few, but I do understand how easy that particular arrangement is to get confused on... hugs.

Oh what a bummer! Rippin' is not fun! Although, your way did make a beautiful layout. :-) I am way behind~ need to get sewing on Orca Bay again soon. ;-) Have a happy day!

My last Civil War Quilt block did the same thing to me. The pieces moved around on me before I sewed them and had to be unsewn. More than once!!!! Some days are just like that.

Wow, I would have left them and seen if "your" way would have worked. But I understand the need to "make it right". Looks like it's going to be a fun quilt.

They were kind of neet done wrong, but they are really cute stars when put together the way intended. Glad that you have had enough time to redo them, you deserve a prize for preserving to get them righted.

I thought your blocks looked great the other way. I also know if it bothers you now, it's best to rip it out and start again. LOL

I also liked them the "wrong" way! I would have left them as is, just to find out the surprise of having a DIFFERENT pattern than a gazillion others doing the quilt.

Yep. I would have left them as is. They were lovely.

I like those "wrong" black blocks! They may not work for Orca Bay, but they're sure neat.

Greetings!

Hi everyone!! I have been busy working....and piecing...and raking leaves. Above are my plaids star blocks...a UFO.  Yes, a genuine UFO!! I ...
