Many projects in the works!

Alrighty then! I took out my Dear Jane...here is the state of the union. I am working on the sixth row, and putting all the blocks together as I go. I tried to do a couple blocks this morning, but our printer is not working, and I need that to work on this quilt, so I had to just sigh, admire the little blocks Jane drafted all those years ago, and put it back away. I am excited to get started on this again though! So Jane...be patient! I am raring to go to get your quilt done! You know, not one of these blocks is perfect...and somehow, that is OK, and I love it all anyway. JOY!!

More Jacob's ladder blocks...these are really fun together, and I have a lot more to do. Great fun!!

All the teeny nine patches are cut out! That took a little doing, let me tell you...and I have 20 of the little buggers done. Can you see the pin in the middle of the piles of blocks? That is how big the blocks are. Of course, any dangling threads must be your imagination! :)

Walmart used to sell fabric, then our store closed out all their fabric. I found this maroon/pink/brown paisley print on the $2.00 table, so I bought all they had, about 4 yards. It makes the perfect sashing for this quilt!! I am really enjoying stitching these blocks in odd moments too...my setting will be different than the Primitive Gatherings quilt, but I love it!!

I won this book!! I am just thrilled...I love puzzle quilts, as I call this kind, lots of blocks and miscellaneous pieces...love it! thank you, Liz!! Please go and see her blog HERE!!

Have a great day, all!!!

You are one busy, busy girl. I love how your Jacob's ladder blocks are lookin'...such a nice color assortment. The wool block sashing fabric is the perfect accent to your stitched blocks. I am going to check at my Walmart for that print today. It is beautiful.

I enjoyed the energy from this post. I need a little of that myself. So, how teenie will your 9-patches finish? I am really wanting to do some projects that use 1-1/2" finished 9-patch blocks. Did you do anything special with those small blocks like spray starch the fabric? I took a class a long time ago that had us do that. It was helpful but I am putting off starting because I don't want my ironing board cover to get all yucky from the starch. I like that red fabric you are using in the sashing. What are you doing with the cornerstones? Finally, love the DJ project. I must get mine back out, too. I completely understand how the printer problem holds things up. My DJ was put away when an old computer died. That's where the DJ software lived.

Fun to see what's going on in your sewing room. I had several projects out yesterday and was making plans for the rest of the year. Congrats on the win.

How nice to win such a great book! Your Dear Jane looks so nice. I have a wall hanging of the 16 blocks I did of Dear Jane and then stopped, just couldn't do any more. Didn't enjoy it and quilting is all about loving what you do---right???!!!

Your Dear Jane looks wonderful. What a lot of work goes in to those blocks.
I love the colors you are using in your Jacob's Ladder.
You have all of the 9-patches cut? You are amazing! Those are so little.
I think your Wal-mart fabric really sets off those blocks. They look beautiful.
I do like Liz's blog, and I'm glad you won the book. The quilt was too ambitious for me, but I would enjoy watching someone else assemble it (big of me, huh?)--that is, if you can find time to squeeze it in among your other many lovely projects.

You do have a lot of lovely projects going on. I'm wondering why you need a printer to do your DJ quilt. I dont think I used a printer for anything while making mine... Curious minds wanna know???

Wahoo on the cool new book! That will be fun to design with.
Your Dear Jane and Jacob's Ladder are coming along nicely. DJ is a patient lady which is a good thing with all the projects you have in the works! Stitching is such versatile friend...machine stitching for fast movement and that beautiful applique for pieceful moments.
Love the Walmart fabric...I found some several years ago on the $2 table. Lovely fabric...I bought all 17 yards! and felt like I was shoplifting taking it home with me :-)

Girl, you are amazing!! :D I am in love with your Jacob's Ladder. I received the stitchery pattern today, Julie, and it is just adorable. My hubby goes out of town on Wed afternoon, and I have plans to start on that. At this point, I have Christmas quilt magazines strewn all over the living room, fabric and freezer paper, sewing machine and cutting tools all in the living room. He's been gone the last two weekends too, so I dragged my mess in here with the pups. :D Thank you bushels for sharing the embroidery pattern with me. You are the best!

I adore all of your projects! You are making me want to dig my Dear Jane out of hiding.

Jane's quilt will get done--I'm sure of it! Glad you're embracing each block even if you don't feel it is perfect (no one else can tell!)

Love the tiny 9 patches and the lovely appliqued blocks. I read that they are restoring fabric in lots of Walmarts but I rarely go to the one nearest me so I don't know if they have it again.

Many projects --- you and me both!!!I'm making each kid a quilt for Christmas and then I'm finishing my Penny garden project. I love that you are making it your own....

You DJ is look great. I need to finish mine up - maybe that will be my project for 2012. I learned long ago not to pick too many goals - so this will be next years.

So many lovely projects Julie!! I too will have to make 2012 a Dear Jane year, or at least get a start on it !!!
I have that Kaye England 'A Civil War Legacy' booklet. I love the work that Kaye does and was lucky enough to do a 4 day retreat with her a few years ago while she was in (Queensland) Australia. She's an awesome lady, very natural, has a great sense of humour and a great teacher as well!!!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
