Fall is coming!!

HI Y'all! don't know why exactly that I am having a bit of trouble with loading the pictures, but I wanted to say Hi to everyone and say that I have been having a blast sewing! Above are Jacob's ladder blocks. Now, I know nothing about the pattern, just have been seeing some of these gorgeous quilts and wanted to make the pattern, so of course I have to experiment to find out the pattern. All this great big internet, and I have to figure it out myself? Hmmmmm...This version of Jacob's Ladder is actually two different blocks ...I love just the two colors alone! This quilt, however, will be all fall time colors...these pretty fabrics were exchanged with friends in Arizona. I am really liking the way the blocks play together. The blocks are 9 inches finished. This should be so much fun!!!
Clematis...pretty huh? My friend Jennifer said that new blossoms come on new growth, so I did not mind that my darling husband cut them down to the ground earlier in the season. I love this color!

Some of our exchanged fabrics!! Thank you Diane, Maggie, Joyce and Lois...I truly love these fabrics!!! Thank you, thank you, and I hope you like yours!!

Speaking of Lois...she is an author! Lois has a wonderful blog too, please click here! She sent me one of her books, and it is just so cool. Thank you, Lois!

I have also cut out another plaid quilt....and the picture would not load. Oh well...more later when I have more to show! Also, I cut out an entire cheddar and blue bow tie quilt! I get in these moods where I just want to plan and plot and go through all my scraps and cut quilts out! How about you?

Have a super great day!

Julie

Your fall colored Jacob's Ladder will be another beauty.
Can't wait to see the upcoming plaid project, too.
An entire cheddar bow tie quilt cut out? Did you get any sleep lately?

Apparently Jacob's Ladder is a far more versatile pattern than I first realized. I love the look of your blocks.

I am having trouble posting pictures too. It takes a long time then says 'connection to server lost'. You did pretty good. I love the Jacob's ladder blocks. I made a green and cream quilt for my son out of them. Your colors are beautiful!

Good idea to cut out a whole quilt...you can then put it in a basket and it will all be ready and waiting when you want to start sewing it. I like your Jacob's ladder quilt blocks!

I wish I would get into the organizing and cutting scraps mode more often :)

Your Jacob's Ladder blocks look great! Sorry you had to do the figuring.....I always check Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville.com site, cuz she pretty much has used every block there is in some way or another, and her figuring is all really great.

I love that you got those beautiful clematis blooms so unexpectedly! What a joy!

Can't wait to see your uncoming projects.....you inspire me every time!

Jacob's Ladder was one of the blocks taught us in my first quilting class about 15 years ago. I've never made the block since, but I've seen many quilts made with it and it's such a versatile block! I'll have to put it on my to-do list.

The Jacob's Ladder pattern is so incredibly timeless - yours is going to be fabulous in fall colors.

I remember when Lois released that book. :-)

Julie, the Jacob's Ladder will be wonderful in Fall colors! I'm glad you like my book and it was so much fun pulling fabrics for the exchange! Thank you for my neutrals! We talked about you at our sew day yesterday. I think I have a PDF of the Jacob's Ladder I did for the NQA Quilting Quarterly Magazine. If I do, I'll send it to you.

Your Jacob's Ladder is going to be fabulous. It's so neat to see the old patterns having a re-birth of sorts.

Greetings!
