Alrighty then!! Here is my finished middle...I like it! You may notice that I have made a few mistakes in the setting...and I am going to leave it. It really does not bother me at all...and will give someone in the future something to talk about. I set my string blocks together with nine patch cornerstones...you can set yours together any way you wish!!! I am loving this quilt...the cacophony of colors and plaids is so pleasing to me. Next? The borders!!!
I recently got to go with dear husband on one of his trips...and I saw this pretty fellow with his rack all in velvet...not too scared of me, and he had three of his deerest friends with him!! Hee!
Hope you are doing fantastic today!
Julie

It looks fabulous! Like Yvette, I've been collecting plaids...when I can find them on sale.
I don't have a lot of experience working with plaids and wovens. So I have a question...do you prewash your plaids?
Loving your quilt from here, can see no imperfections in the setting! I also love the fabric reference in the deer's rack. Hee!! ;) He is regal.
Julie...it looks really good. It is on my to do list someday...love the nine patch cornerstones.....AND I like everything about it!!
I love that quilt pattern. Am gonna have to make it one of these days. I love the look of homespuns!
You have such fabulous plaid fabrics...so bright and happy. It looks great!
Lovely top and it does my head in looking for your mistakes. What a nice site to see on your trip.
I have a tub of homespuns that is calling my name now....I will have to break down and make this quilt! Your quilt is just so beautiful!
I too have a bunch of homespuns. I really like they look in your string quilt. My wheels are starting to turn...

Wow! what a wonderful result with all those plaids!!! Couldn't see any mistakes, it all looks good to me!!! Love the little deer, beautiful!!!
Wonderful work. The white sashing is a really good choice.
Fantatic....its makes you want to jump in and make one...
I haven't spotted any boo boo's!It looks great! I haven't done any more to mine :-(
I had a cat once called Moose.
Though I didn't do the quilt-along, this quilt has been on my mind so much, last week I ordered the Evelyn Sloppy book! Should be here soon.
I think my stash of men's shirts is going to meet its pattern soon. Love both of these quilts you have made!
Oh Julie it is fabulous! I have one twelveth of this quilt done! Pathetic I know but I hope to get some more blocks done this week. I have cut loads of strings so just need to put my foot down.
But I have finished my churndash nine-patch quilt top!
Looking forward to your next step...! Just love the way you put those colours together !
Morning, Julie! What type of fabric do you use for the neutral sashing? I'm collecting fabric to make one, too. I even already own the book.
That plaid quilt is wonderful!!! Nice wildlife photo, too!!!
Love it! I don't see the troubles, but I love your idea that future generations will have something to talk about - my kinda plan *s*
Woo-Hoo! Your quilt is fantastic!! I love it no matter which way the blocks are turned.
I just two velvety fellows on my run this morning- not as big as yours though.
Wooo hoooo! Cool, girl!
The difference in the setting of the blocks encourages the non-quilter viewer to realize part of what we love about quilting - that there is an entirely different level of quilting with the arrangement of blocks. I think I would have also left them the way they ended. You are right = it adds interest. 8-)) Just lovely.
The plaids look wonderful!
Handsome dude you met on your trip! and a lovely picture of him.
Happy Summer!
