Hi everyone!! Lori of Humble Quilts treated us all to a doll quilt quilt along this January...here are my completed blocks. I love them so much, thank you, Lori! Here is a straight set...and...
Here is the original set. I do not have much midnight blue...so am decided how to set them. I love playing with these blocks!!
I found this book at the store...Kim of Magnolia Bay Quilts wrote this book!! She has a wonderful blog...the book deals mostly with making quilts from 2.5 inch strips...how fun is that!! Some gorgeous quilts are in here. Kim has a new book out too!!

Three done today! I noted that your blocks were not all perfect...and so I will make mine not perfect too, to match you. (As if I had to try to do that, LOL!)*****************Nurse's notes*********************
I am working in the new Heart Hospital, as well as the old ICU in the old hospital. Both have their good points...it is exciting to work with the MI's, the bypass surgeries...but it is also fun to work with the little old people who just happen to be very, very ill in the ICU. One thing I love about the new hospital is the view!!! I can see miles and miles...the school next to the hospital with the kids all running around, and white church steeples in the town poking up out of the trees...it is really a pretty view...and we can see the sunsets around here!!!

Very pretty blocks however you set them together. I made a table runner out of one of the patterns in Kim's book. Turned out really well. It's a great book.
Sometimes looking at the view can erase a lot of stress. I hope your vista will do that for you.

I am unable to participate in Lori's sew along but I can sure enjoy seeing the ones others are making.

I have wanted to do one of those for like forever. Practiced my EQ drawing by drawing up the ones in the book and then bought the EQ Dear Jane software. A guild I just joined is doing them too.
But don't those Brackman blocks look fun as well! I have a pal from IL that does the re-enactment stuff and I pointed her towards the site. The history stuff is so interesting if nothing else.

Love your blocks! I have Kim's book too.....it's one of my favorites. I enjoy the pictures of the quilts in this book. Not just the patterns! You job sounds very fulfilling :)
One of the best things about working nights when I lived in Albuquerque, was the incredible sunrise view we'd get every morning. Our medicine room had two Pyxis stations and 2 very large windows, so while you stood around waiting for your turn to grab the 0600 meds, you could feast on the sun coming up over the Sandia Mountains--sheer heaven!
I am a retired stomatherapist R.N. and a registered nutritionist in Pharma..who happens to quilt..lol

Looks like you're making progress on your Dear Jane! Scraps were precious! ;o) Ya know, Mark Lipinski in one of his issue of Quilter's Home magazine hired a medium to channel Jane. It was a funny article. Sadly, he didn't ask why the blocks were so small! lol Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
