This is the sum total of my day!! Above is the first step completed of Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville mystery, "Cotton Boll". I had a ton of pink strips cut for another project, which I can't remember what in the world I had in mind...and they worked perfectly in this project. I found myself picking out the loudest, brightest fuchsia pinks...that color is one of my favorites. Please tell me if you are doing this mystery too!!
I went to two grocery stores getting the Thanksgiving day meal groceries together...free turkey from one! I liked that part....cleaned all afternoon, made a meal, and now I work from now until Turkey day, almost...and Turkey day too! so the day after Thanksgiving will be my day to cook for my family. We can be (and are) thankful any day!!!
The last post....I have been working non stop, so I just pulled the winner...drum roll please! Kami, will you please send me your snail mail address? Thank you...and I hope you like your goodies!!
OK, off to put dishes in the dishwasher.....and laundry in the dryer!!!
Have a super great day!

Busy, busy, busy you are! I'm not doing the mystery but looks like fun!! Love the pinks!
I love your pinks!! I've started cutting my strips and hope to get the units together tonight for Cotton Boll! This is my first mystery -- so I'm excited!!!
Blessings!

Yes!! I'm doing Bonnie's mystery. I've been gone all day so tomorrow I'll start. Love your hot hues!!
I am doing the mystery...how could I stop myself when I have no self control?!? But I haven't even started cutting yet and you have finished!
Can't wait to see how your cotton boll turns out. I want to make it, but think I need to wait a bit until I"m a bit more organized!
I have good intentions to do Bonnies mystery. This first step looks easy enough. I hope to get started tomorrow.
Yes I am doing the mystery but need to get my main sewing machine back from the shop where it's having a minor repair. I have all my colours chosen and everything -just patiently ( not ! ) waiting xxx
I am doing the mystery! This is my first ever mystery and my first quilt along. I started cutting strips last night.
Good job! I'm doing the mystery too, but we're out of town this weekend, so I'll have to wait to make my step 1 units for a day or two.
I love your pinks! I have not started yet because I can't decide between blues or lime greens with my pinks. I will wait for the next clue to decide. This is sooo much fun!
You know what, Julie, one of my gratitudes for Thanksgiving is YOU. You are such an inspiration to me. I love your hot pinks, and can't wait to see what it works out to be.
What a great selection of pinks!!!
Congrats to Kami. WooHoo!!!!
Pretty pinks!!!
Love all your shades of pink! This will be a great quilt when the mystery is done! I admire you--you get so much done! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love your pinks, I'm doing the Mystery too, just started my strips, should have them done by tomorrow.
Hey Julie! The pinks are awesome! I am doing the Bonnie mystery too! I got all my pieces made today. I miscounted somehere and ended up with 186 units!
I have to work over Thanksgiving too, but have 5 days off after that. We will have family over on Saturday. Fun!
Mary
No, I am not doing the mystery and can't wait to see yours done.
Thanks for commenting on my blog.
YES, I can hardly wait for pt.#2. I have made one of Bonnie Hunter's quilts but I've never participated in the quilt-along. This is really fun. I hope the next step isn't 312 star blocks or something!!!
Julie I am so excited to have won your giveaway thank you. I love bright pinks, so I am already certain the I will like how this quilt turns out.
Thanks again for the patterns.
You beat me in posting a picture of your clue #1 I already told you I am doing the mystery. Mine are not so all Pink but in the red family, Didn't have that many pinks. Am using anything I have, Some 30s reprints, TB and then all the rest of the stash.
Just about to start Bonnies' latest Mystery. I just love her quilts they are so user friendly!
Love your bright pinks. Seeing the colors everyone has chosen is the biggest part of the fun on a mystery. The quilts all end up looking so different as a result.
Ooooo... those bright pinks combined with that green look like bubblegum and pistachios. I'm not doing the mystery. I've got enough to do trying to finish my measly 2 UFOs for Finn's challenge. I have more UFOs but I only committed to 2, thank goodness.
Wow - your quilt will be a eye-catcher.
And Yes as you already know, I am doing the mysteri as well - but think I will go for a smaller version and make it a charity quilt
Hi Julie, I have to work THG day too, both Wed and Thursday but luckily I am invited to dinner and only have to bring two things, creamed corn and sweet potatoes. Since I don't work until 11pm both nights, I will still be able to enjoy both sleeping and dinner! Love your pink squares. Can't wait to see the finished product! Steph
That pink is wonderful! I've only gone as far as pulling my strips from the bins...wondering how to do blue and white quilt simultaneously with the mystery quilt....
I think the hot pink is great. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Love your pinks!! You're right, they do look a lot like mine.
I just got back from a retreat, and a friend asked me if I was going to start Bonnie's mystery. When she said it was greens and pinks I decided to give it a try. I have some things to do before Thanksgiving, but I'm going to pull fabrics and start when I get a chance. I love your pinks and greens.
My pinks seem to be much like yours. I've got my strips sew and cut today. I'm looking forward to the next step.
Happy Thanksgiving.
