Can't see the forest for the trees!!!

Here is where I am at in the process...the second quilt from the Leaders and Enders book by Bonnie Hunter. I think a blog friend is sending me some blocks...so I am holding on for those...how fun to include blocks from a friend! All the setting fabric is from the stash...I already had cut the sashing for another project that never came to fruition, so that was great! I do not have enough of these little squares for the border...will I have to (perish the thought)...actually have to cut some? I have been trying to empty my scrap drawers as some of you know.I like the combination of green, red and gold...looks kind of like Holland a little to me.
I put this picture in too...following the book so I don't get lost in the placement! Good idea for me...

Have a great day!

Julie

It's so fun to see it all set out and get a small glimpse of how it's coming together. I love it! Great selections. =)

Oh my word!! Did the qulting fairies come over and help!? It looks like MILLIONS of those little squares! I'm in awe (and a little jealous! LOL)!! It's going to be positively gorgeous -- and in my most favorite color combo, red/green/gold. Awesome!
Blessings,
Mary Lou

I never would have thought to use the green as the setting triangles, but it's perfect. Makes a really strong statement, and the red sashing and gold blocks just add to it. You're doing great Julie. Love it! Do you actually have all your tree blocks done already??? Can't believe it! Hugs, Finnie

Oh that is so nice! I just love those trees! I have a pattern similar to that but I'm thinking that mine has triangles instead of squares. I do like that, what size are you making it?

Your top is looking great. The green setting triangles look great with the sashing. If it's a million small pieces, its a Bonnie Hunter pattern:) Her new mystery will begin some time next week. Are you planning on doing that one?

Love your blocks and how it is coming together. My daughter made one like this a long time ago and it was put in a book but I don't rememeber which one. She didn't have the red sashing around the trees. Great Julie but think you will still have scraps. LOL
