I PASSED MY CCRN TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I passed! I passed! I now can call myself a CCRN (certified Critical care)....and stop all the studying that is hampering my housecleaning and quilting and other fun stuff....YAHOO!! The test was yesterday...I really have been studying like crazy, and still, there were some questions...I had never even heard of! They had a brain surgery question on there that I had no clue...good thing I don't work with those patients, huh? I did get 100% on the cardiac questions...Now I will have time to see what you all have been up to!!!

Above is my Two And One Half Inch Drawer Quilt. All of this came from that drawer...hence the name. I am going to put another border on it of squares...and that should polish off that drawer! So, I feel good about that.

Joyce! In Arizona! Joyce has no blog, but she should...she is an amazing quilter and needs to share her quilts with the world! She is teasing me and tempting me to start another quilt...look at what she sent! What a great idea for the 5 inch squares our local hospital quilters recently swapped...thank you so much, Joyce, I love your idea!!

Dear Jane....you and I are a bit slow this week...but slow progress will be our norm, I am sure. Thank you Jane for all these original and gorgeous blocks...I am having great fun making them. I can hold out for about 3 a day...then I just have to something a little less intricate. Like nine patches....see above. Jane, I think you may have been a seamstress, maybe, to have collected all those fabrics...I am about running out of brown options! I must confess, I love it when the next block up is pink...or red, as seen in your original quilt.

************************WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN A SWAP?******************

I have in the back of my mind...a nine patch swap! Not that it has not been done before...but I am just thinking what fun it would be to have a different nine patch from a few...or loads of you wonderful blog friends! Would you be interested in this? You would make all your nine patches alike...send them to me...and I will sort, package up, and send each person participating two of each! You would get 100 nine patches back...just different ones, in all different fabrics. Variety!! So, if we had 50 bloggers doing this, then we each would make 100 nine patches. We could strip piece them and get this done fairly quickly... Does that sound OK?? I will send out information in the coming week or two about doing this...any size preferable? I would like reproduction fabrics....interested???

Have a wonderful week!

Julie, RN, CCRN

CONGRATULATIONS!

I know you are so happy in passing this test...all in the past now.

My quilting sessions - either in piecing or hand quilting have pretty much drawn to a close...summer time means I am outside much of the time.

The temps have been in the high 90's and the heat index all the way to 121 the other day...so I don't stay out long...but go out several times per day.

Congrats!

I'd be interested in a 9-patch swap so long as a style of fabric was agreed upon...repros for me. I'd hate to be doing repros and end up with batik blocks.

GREAT news, congratulations!!! Have not been in the quilt room the last week or so, the garden has been calling. I would be interested in a 9 patch swap, but nothing small, 3" would be very small. Not fussy about color or style. Take care Jen

CONGRATULATIONS on passing your CCRN test!!! We are all very proud of you!!! Right now, I am in the midst of the summer from H*LL as far as being overwhelmed with MUST-DO things...so even though I'd like to be in a swap, I can't do it at this time. Sorry about that! I hope you find others who can participate, though, as it sounds like a fun project.

Congratulations on passing the CCRN: that is a major accomplishment.

Julie I am so excited for you Congrats!!! RN`s are number 1 in my books with all the education and then to try to manage a household and a job..you rock.
as for the nine patch it is a great way to celebrate your freedom..it is so tempting cause I have been in many with great success. but I have been in too many this year will watch and cheer on the sidelines

It must feel like a big load off your shoulders!! Congratulations on passing your test!!!

Congratulations on passing your test!! I fully understand you wanting to do a simple quilt after a few Dear Jane blocks. I am the same way - can handle the tedious only so long, need something simple and then I'm ready for another challege! The 5" square idea is really neat also. Thanks for sharing!

Congratulations!!!! Oh, I do wish we lived closer to each other...I would love to have you as my cardiac nurse! :) Thank you so much for your comments and concern.

Congratulations! Your quilt is so cute. I'd love to join in a nine-patch swap, but don't know if I can commit to anything right now and don't want to disappoint anyone. A great idea, tho...I love repros. :o)

Hearty Congratulations on your new qualification!

Don't rush into the house cleaning it's no substitute for learning!
You still seem to be doing quite a lot of quilting. The little quilt at the top of your post is looking yummy the colours please me.
Enjoy your extra time to yourself - you deserve it!

Congratulations!!! It's nice to see someone excited about nursing. I am going to retire from nursing in December after 32 years. It will seem weird for sure.

Congratulations on passing your test. I've been in critical care a few times and I know how awesome those nurses are! I really appreciated what they could do.

Great Job!! So happy for you!

Congratulations on your success with the test!! What a relief to have that behind you. Love the Drawer 2.5 Quilt (I'm renaming it, LOL!)

I'd love to be in a swap...especially a 9 patch one! Personally I like a little bit larger block, say 8" finished, using 3.5" strips or squares, but would be amenable to a 6" finished, using 2.5" strips or squares. Count me in!

Apparently there are some questions that you really do have to be a brain surgeon to answer!!! Congratulations on this huge accomplishment!!! I know nurses who have taken this test and I know it is a really big deal!

I love the quilts that you are working on and can't wait to see them finished.
I am sorry I can't do the block exchange... but it sounds fun!

HUGE CONGRATS on passing your test - I can imagine that is a big weight off your mind. The thing that worries me is that you said the studying had been hampering your "housecleaning" ... what is this activity?!?!?!
The drawer quilt is great :)

waaayyyy to go Julie on being CCRN!!! I am not sure about the 9 patch swap..it is tempting but will need to know time lines before committing.

Look at how good your name looks with all those letters after it LOL!!! Congrats. Love your show and tell today. 2 1'2" strip quilt looks good so far. And I do really like the 5" square block too. I so admire your determination to hang in there with Dear Jane. It has not spoken to me yet (which is a very good thing). Have a great day.

Congratulations on your great accomplishment! Clapping for you here!
Great idea to celebrate with a 9 patch swap! I'd love to join in if you don't mind mailing over the border...I'll send you some FQ's to cover postage.
The smaller the block, the better for me :)
Okay, maybe a 1.5" block is not for everyone LOL...I'll go along with whatever size most people prefer.

Congratulations on passing your test! Hearts are way more interesting to deal with than heads anyway :) Love your drawer quilt......good luck with the 9 patch swap...I will stay away from swaps for the time being...won't commit to things I am not sure I can deliver...a bit much going on at the moment.

Good luck on the swap! I'll be interested to see your efforts unfold.

Happy Sunday hugs!

Julie, how wonderful to have that CCRN in your pocket! Nice work getting all that studying in and the testing passed. I'm sure you get enough CE's to keep it current without much extra work. And I hope you get a nice fat bonus at work. I get one yearly for the CCRN and CEN...it's called quilting budget to me :-)

A 9 patch swap sounds like fun, depending on size and style of fabric.

YEEEEHAAAAAW!!! Congratulations, big time! Do you have to do recerts now and then? Sorry I brought it up--don't hit me!

Love the cute quilts--especially the 9-patch. Unfortunately, I have no repro fabrics, so can't join in a swap with you, but it sounds like fun!

Congrats on your CCRN! You surely earned it *s*

9 patches sound like a LOT of fun. I think repro fabrics sound just right. How about 3" finished? I just love those little blocks *S*
