Over the fourth, we took a road trip...ideal for hand sewing for the lady in the shotgun seat. So, I prepped all the blocks I had so far for Lisa's garden woolie wonder...and got them all done. Yippee! These finish at 3 inches.
Dear Jane: You must have had a lot of brown prints left over from your dresses...did you? Or did your blocks in the almost 150 years since you completed your quilt fade from the original colors to lots of browns? Either way, I love your quilt...it is great fun, and I am glad you stuck with it girl! It must have been hard work...good for you!!! I got these three blocks in row four done today. Lots of little pieces!
Gratitude's:
-Safe travel mercies...we are home safe!
-I think I am losing weight this week...maybe a pound or so?
-A metal coffee can! I found it today...and I have a project to make from it...mostly coffee containers are plastic around here, now...
Have a wonderful day!
Julie

I don't think my eyes would allow me to make finished block like these at three inches...wow ~ that is tiny.
Glad you had a safe trip...we food, family, friends and fireworks here on the 4th...fun - fun - fun.
Your woolie blocks look BEAUTIFUL!!!
The woolie flowers are FAB. Having a hand project that you can grab and go is great, a little time spent here and there and pretty soon a whole row is done. Nice d.j. too.
Wow, I have knitted in the car, but 3" squares would cross my eyes. But it does look wonderful. Great job. Hope you enjoyed the trip.
Turned out soooo lovely...
hey!! those came out wonderful!!
love the plaid quilt in your heading picture too!!
You are doing a great job Julie. I haven't started mine yet. Yours is bautiful. I thnk that I will work on mine tomorrow. Thanks for sharin.
The wool quilt is sooo cute. Did you see the wool table mat I am working on? Isn't it the easiest stuff in the world to work with? Needles so easily.
We are packing for a 12-hour-one-way trip...leave tomorrow. I am not driving at all with 5 other drivers present, so I need at least 12 hours of handwork for on the way there! Forget about packing clothing...I've got priorities!!
I'm jealous of your P.G. blocks! I'd love to do that one.
I never realised the blocks were that small. They look fabulous. I admire anyone doing that DJ, your blocks are lovely. Glad you had a safe trip.
Those little wool applique blocks are just as pretty as can be. They went together fast. So quickly that I think you should make us all a set. LOL!
Just love Lisa's Garden. It has a certain something to it... and good on you for a few more Dear Jane blocks! Glad to know all is well with you!
Look at what you've done! WOW! What progress and success.
Love your little blocks! It's always good to have a project like this when riding shotgun....I usually take something to work on too. Glad you had a safe and fun trip!
Wow! Your wooly flower kit is really growing!!
Lovely work on your DJ block too!
I didn't realize those flower blocks were so small! They sure are pretty! :0)
Your 9-patch is stunning and I love your notes to Dear Jane!
Very pretty little quilt!
Well, I forgot those flowers were woolies...I like them even better now. What a fun quilt!
How are you sewing those DJ blocks. I can see the applique one but are you paper piecing the others? Just curious :-) You are fast.
Love the flower blocks, so cute.
