Rusty 1993-2010
Many of you know about our little poodle that was our dear pet for years and years. He has been failing more and more lately...Dear Rusty passed away this afternoon at 3:15, at our home. He was born in October 1993, and was a huge part of our lives. He was just as sweet and sprightly as this picture shows, and will be greatly missed. We love you dear dog, and just know you are in doggie heaven, all is better now.

Julie, I have been a "lurker" on your blog for a while and I always enjoy hearing about your quilts and your nursing notes (I'm a former hospital speech pathologist). But today I'm writing to say how sorry I am to hear about your beloved Rusty. We lost our wonderful Boston Terrier not so long ago and it was truly like losing a member of the family. I know people disagree about this, but, for us, it did help to get a puppy fairly soon. Not that she was a replacement, but it did not take her long to find her own special place in our aching hearts. My thoughts are with you. Cathy

Sorry for your loss and it will take awhile to feel better. We had Snuggles a mixed breed for 13 years and I understand you loss. I still miss her at times and she has been gone for a long time now.

I could shed tears with you...I know how much pets can be loved...and I truly believe God has somehow a place for them in heaven...I know they don't have a soul like we humans...but they will be there.
Just love the other pets even more now.

We welcome our pets to be part of our families and then we feel extremely sad when they are gone. So sorry for your loss of sweet Rusty.
I'm so sorry to hear about Rusty. Pets have a way of capturing our hearts and when they are gone, we miss them terribly. I'm sure he will be waiting to greet you in heaven, wagging his tail, all better with no health problems...
Oh, Julie, so sorry to read about this. Having lost my little Libby 3 years ago, I know how you must be feeling right now. But I am glad he got to spend his last moments at home with the people he loved.
I'm with Cathy on this--after 2 weeks I couldn't stand the loneliness of not having Libby around and before a month was gone, we'd brought Tandi, our rescue cocker spaniel, home with us. She is nothing like Libby, but she has made her own place in our hearts and home.

Julie, I'm so sorry to read about Rusty. I just can't image losing a loved one after so long (and I refuse to think about how I will deal with it when it's Chesty's time).

So very sorry about the loss of your precious Rusty. We just lost our 13 year old yellow lab, and being a big dog lover, I know how special they are and how much their presence makes our lives so much better. Hugs to you.
