HI HO, HI HO, it's back to work I go!

This was supposed to be posted on Wednesday...hmmm, don't know how I hit the wrong button? HI Y'all...I got the above quilt all marked for quilting and pinned within an inch of it's life. I started on the hand quilting...so much fun for me!! I was debating whether to hand quilt or machine quilt...but hand quilting won out. So here I go!
Made a few of these...the container is getting pretty full! When the little spool basket is all full, that is how big this quilt will be.
And Dear Jane...one row finished! Here are the blocks from yesterday. Not perfect, but I love them none the less. I think I love imperfect things and people more!!

**********************Weight Loss Wednesday!****************************

Dear Stephanie from at Ditchin Time quilts is doing a fun thing each Wednesday...posting out weight loss goals and progress. so here goes! I am also doing Weight Watchers, so that weigh in is on Thursday. I am::

X + 10!!!! My goal is X....and counting!!!

Wish me luck, and also...tell me to keep out of the cookies!!!

No cookies, praise instead. A beautiful quilt and handing quilting will elevate it to special. Take care.

Can you believe I was reading your comment about cookies as I was just eating two small cookies??? LOL I am being very careful and my carbs have been severely limited, but I allowed myself these two cookies as today I didn't have any dinner. Love the quilt you are hand-quilting!

Love how you use plaids in your quilts. The star quilt in plaids is awesome. Good luck with your WW. Cookies and ice cream are my downfall. A plan that is working for me is not to eat between meals. I tend to have one long graze. Take care! Enjoy the weekend.

I like the quilt and look forward to seeing your progress. I have two handquilting projects upcoming that I need to settle into before it becomes too hot.

Good luck on the Wednesday Weigh In. I am with you, but with X+20. Can't change where we are starting from.

Your plaid stars quilt is one of my favorite and I've kept it as NEW so as not to forget.

Weight loss - uhhh, I hurriedly skimmed past THAT subject - a subject I NEED to be paying attention to. I wish you success with THAT hard job, although I'm well aware of the good feelings when you can shed some extra. You know, my last statement kinda sounds like using stash - you feel good when it's gone, anda there are wonderful benfits!

You are SO tempting me to start a spools quilt. Ive had one on my to do list forever and I love these ones your making. The homespun stars are great too. We're going to be making homespun blocks for our next HeartStrings project and I will probably make another quilt from them while I've got them out.

The plaid quilt looks great! Are you hand piecing the Dear Jane blocks?

Get out of the cookies and back to the sewing, my dear!

OH, look at you! Handquilting, glad that won out, Julie. Enjoy the process.

And the Dear Jane?

I have SO wanted to do a Dear Jane for years. I have a lot of civil war repros on hand and probably only need to find some backfround fabric. What is the hold-up, LOL? I have the EQ Dear Jane software for it on the computer so should get started, right? Actually I practiced up on my EQ drawing skills by drawing up every single block in the book into my software and THEN bought the disc from the experts.

Hope you have had a blessed day.

I got my nose right up to the computer screen...is that a fan pattern I see drawn out on this lovely quilt?!? Are you quilting fans?? I really want to try them and since I am almost finished my hand quilting project, I might look for another project to start fanning!

So how big is the spools basket? Your quilt looks great and hand quilting is so relaxing, but it sure does take awhile. But then - what's the hurry?

I wish you good luck with your weight loss. I think you picked the right time. In summer it is easier to eat less and move more.
Your plaid star quilt looks wonderful. Have fun hand-quilting it.
Take care.
