What I did today...

OK...I did clean bathrooms, did laundry etc. Also, I went to lunch with dear husband, near his work, that was fun! In between times, though...I put the last border on the latest plaid quilt. I just love plaids! This quilt is so soft...so homespun good! I have found my niche, my very favorite. I asked my friend Finn a couple of years ago, "What IS my style?" These plaids are just my style! So whatever that is, that is me. What is your favorite...your style? I would love to know!
I made a sample block of the log cabin, and here is why. I found a cache of blocks, groups of them already cut out...and I have no idea what they are! I know, I know, dementia comes early in my family, but if I have only made a sample block, I would know what the pile of cut fabric was supposed to be! Don't suppose you have ever done this?
A very dear friend sent me this for Christmas. I am so very tickled!! It is the very best tea ever...It has been mostly consumed by now...and a clothesline! Why, you may ask? Fabric covered clothesline baskets! I have been cutting strips for this today too...progress to come. Thank you dear, dear lady...you know who you are!

I also worked on my Cheddar doll quilt that Lori of Humble Quilts is showing us how to do...that takes me forever! But I am steadily making progress. No picture because it looks pretty much the same as last time I showed it, with the addition of side triangles.

Back to work for me tomorrow...so I have had fun working at home and playing today!!

Hoping you have a wonderful week!!

Julie

You are definitely a plaid person and I love your header quilt!

I think applique has to be my style as you can see a lot of my quilts have a bit or a lot of applique thrown in.

My style is coveting everyone elses quilts...I love love love your header quilt, and I love your new plaid quilt. I like how you floated the center, sashing and all, gives it a very dramatic look. Who would have thought plaids could be so bright and colorful!

I too love your header quilt! I've made one very similiar but I like yours much better!

I'm so new to quilting I don't think I've found my style yet. I love scrappy quilts, but it seems every day I see something else that catches my eye.

You are right, plaids are definitely your thing. The quilt in the header is gorgeous, but I think I may have told you this before. I have a varied palette... I love brights, 30s, and black and white. Can't wait to see your fabric bowls.

I love plaids too! But I have a hard time committing to "one thing"...it's amazing I've been married for 25 years *LOL* I love everything about quilting, all fabrics, all designs. I do love the Joe Morton fabric that is only available in the US, but I also love bright colours, love batiks to piece with, but don't like quilting them, love fabric painting....see my problem?!?!

I recently made three bowls with clothesline at work.. and it is FUN!!! ;o)

Beautiful quilt! I love your style! :-) Great log cabin block too. Are you following a pattern? I've wondered abt the clothesline bowls, I'll be following your progress. ;-)

Oh my...I love your quilt and I did not realize how much I like plaids until I saw it. Great job!

Love your plaid star quilt - I think my style is simple old patterns in 1800s repro fabrics. As for the cutting mystery, there's no risk of that in my lifr. I really don't like cutting, I have to force myself.

I love that quilt on your header! Did you make the pattern up, or does that block have a name? beautifu1l

Plaid quilts are down to earth, warm and cheerful. Hmmm, sounds like you! Glad your style suits you so well.

I'm traditional with a twist because I love color but have to have some order with it by using pieced blocks. Could it be my artist mother and engineer father influencing me both?

Love your plaid quilt! What is my style, I would have to say somewhat traditional, but always very very scrappy!

LOVE your new blog header! It sings "JulieK!"

Hmm...my style? I'd probably have to ask another just as you did. Hmm...they might say "eclectic" just depending on the October's Child's mood. ;-)

Oooh...baskets are in the making?! I still have yet to do this. You and Karen will have to give me a friend nudge. ;-)

Glad you had so much fun doing what you love. You deserve that, Jules. ;-)

Sunny hugs from not-so-frigid (knock on wood) North Dakota. ;-)

You can almost hear your excitment in your blog with you work with plaids. I'd agree they are your style.

I've been thinking about my style in recent days as I skip through my projects and I think I'm just a traditional quilter. Does that makes sense?

Oh, I think you know . . . . I'm all about the plaid!
