Something for you

Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday. I have gotten quite a bit done at my house, with so much left yet undone...but making progress! Above is a wonderful book. It is all about quilting time periods, and has patterns from 1830 through the present. I love this book! I like this book so much, that I purchased it twice! Silly girl...Half-price books is on the way home from work, and I bought it again by mistake recently. So in the spirit of Frugal Friday and sharing what you have and clearing clutter...please comment and I will have a drawing for it on April 10Th.
I found a very pretty "Honey Bun", a roll of 1 and 1/2 inch strips from Moda...yum!
My iris are going to town, with some blooms so heavy they are bending over to the ground.
A close up...pretty don't you think??

Gratitude's:

Family, always.

Pretty flowers in the springtime.

Warm weather.

Lunch out with DH.

Have a great weekend!

Julie

Iris are my absolute favorite flower! When I could spend time outside tending them, I had about 50 different varieties. I'd love to make a color palette from your close up photo if you don't mind!

I'd also love to be in on the drawing for the book - I love historical quilts!

So you have been on decluttering mission... so have I... nine year old son stood in the livingroom and said he was irritated...my friends dont have it like this... why cant we be organized!!! So he started to take away socks and tshirts..(his own) pens and paper... and then he took a look at my embroidery ...hmmm he said..Mum cant you put that away... so now they are in a basket ... lol..thanks to my sweet and wonderful son... hope I can keep it like that!! :o) And I have to say he did a good job...lol..

I just started reading your blog, I am getting inspired by other quilters. And really I should be decluttering my craft room instead of adding to it, but please enter me in your drawing.

Julie,
I just found your blog....Very neat. Your Iris are wonderful.....I am so glad that there are still hand quilters around.....I gave up quilting in 1995,but I am starting up again.....I never used to see machine quilting and now I hardly ever find a hand quilter.....I am going to hand quilt a top that I did this year.....It will probably take me forever....Come see me, Amy

When we lived in Illinois many moons ago, we had beautiful iris, thank you for that memory! Yours are lovely.

If it was good, first time around, must be even better the second time around. I would love to give it a good home. I could de clutter the book shelf to give it a new home!

Thanks for offering to share!

The book looks wonderful...I've been trying to read as much as I can lately about quilt history...I'm reading "An American Quilt" but haven't seen your book! The "Wonderland" honey bun looks so cute...it will be fun to see what you make with it!

I love Half Priced Books. I so wish we had one near our home. But that book sounds fantastic! It is always nice to see quilts from different eras. They are really inspiring. The wonderland by MoMo is so pretty. I can't wait to see what you will make from it. I cannot believe you have iris already up and blooming. I am so longing for spring to really arrive hear. Some little signs here and there, but nothing really to speak of. Thanks for entering me into your drawing!

That book looks very interesting. I've done that before myself, sadly more than once (although I've only ever bought the same thing twice, never three times). One was a pattern that I was able to donate as a giveaway at a retreat.

Your iris are so pretty - surely a sign that spring is here to stay!!

Cheers!

That book looks good... but of course, it could be because I'm drawn to the green in the quilt. ;)

We can always tell when a book, magazine, or pattern are our cup of tea, when we discover that we have bought them twice. Something I certainly understand. Love the flowers, it is weeks, before we will see ours. Way to much snow to melt away, and warm sun to be found to get our flowers blooming.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I haven't seen this book but it must be good to buy 2 times. I like your bearpaws in the previous post.

I haven't seen this book, but you probably don't want to send it to Canada and pay twice as much as the book costs for the postage!
Enjoy the beautiful flowers!

That's a book that would be wonderful in anyone's quilting library!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
