Spring!

Happy Easter!

Vicki recently shared on her blog a picture of the chapel where she was married, and I thought I would love to show the tiny mountain church where we were married. The church is tiny, one room, very small and rustic...loved it!! Unfortunately, this church does not exist anymore...it was torn down, and a new, bigger church is there on the site now...I am so glad we got the pictures! It was all rough logs inside and wood, just lovely.
I planted these last fall, and they are up and doing well now. Spring is definitely here! All the trees are greening, and it is just beautiful. I have been so lucky to have had my surgery, I know that sounds strange, but for the first time in a long time, I have experienced the entire Spring! We all get so busy that the seasons slip past, but being off work, I have really been able to enjoy the lovely weather and nuances of this beautiful season.

I made a plaid quilt a long time ago. This is one I made about 8 years ago, and is entirely hand-worked. It was fun! Lots of loosey-goosey plaids, homespuns, leftovers...I have another larger plaid quilt all cut out but not put together yet...the best laid plans of mice and men, right?

Hope all is well with everyone and you are having a marvelous weekend! Any Easter egg hunts or Sunrise services planned? Enjoy!

What a great little church you and your DH were married in!

We were married at the JP's office, just me and DH with 2employees from the JP pulled in as our witness LOL. I got so nervous I started laughing and couldn't get a hold of myself LOL, ahem, luckily the JP took it in stride and waited me out ROFL.. Isn't that awful LOL...23 yrs later DH and I get a tickle out of it LOL...

Your quilt is really pretty and so are your tulips!

Ohhhh you have Spring already? I just have Spring fever! The tulips haven't even started to peep out of the ground. In fact, we woke up to snow on the ground for the past two days! Boo Hoo no Spring here - yet anyway!

What a gorgeous little church, and how lovely to have tulips up already. Your plaid quilt is stunning. No dawn service here, just the regular 10.30 am one.

Your spring photos look really different than mine! The tulips are SO pretty.

I also love the homespuns quilt. I have a bunch from a couple quilts I made in the past and have plans for a string quilt ala Evelyn Sloppy one of these days.

Oh what a cute church! What a fun thing to share online. Our church wasn't anything quaint, or large or anything outstanding. I LOVE that plaid star quilt! And the tulips are great. We just got a another huge snowstorm this weekend, so no outside easter egg hunts this year!

what a cute church..and what a shame it isn't there anymore! Spring has certainly sprung in your neck of the woods...we are waiting for winter and hopefully some rain...the trees here aren't losing leaves because it's autumn they are losing leaves due to drought stress and it is so sad to see. But I am sure the rain will come - sooner rather than later I hope. Love your quilt!

I have just today found your blog and I love that little church. I also see about your surgery. My husband also had that surgery and it was amazing to see him stop limping and get back to walking. Hope your recovery is going well.

I love the little church! We were married outside at a place called "Mountain Homeplace" It is a working 1800's farm. Everyone is dressed in that era and we were married in the front yard of the old log home.

Your flowers look so pretty, that really makes me wish mine were coming up! They should be soon. Glad you are doing better after surgery, please continue to take it easy.

The plaid quilt is beautiful! I love the look of plaid, it always seems so cozy!

That certainly is a cute and rustic little church. It is a shame that it has been taken down.

I love the use of the plaid in that quilt. Great quilt!!

Such a nice little church and now gone. How lucky you were to still enjoy it.
Your appliqué top is wonderful and you do seem to possess a lot of pins!
The tulips are not here yet, just daffodils and it is snowing! So much for spring.
I wish you a happy Easter and take care.

Love the quilt -- the plaids make it look so cozy. I wish we had tulips but spring seems to be taking its time getting here.

What a sweet little church! I am sorry it was torn down, but at least you still have your memories.

Your plaid quilt is lovely! A true work of "heart", isn't it?

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
