Happy Tuesday!In keeping with finishing things up...Here is my Rose Sampler Supreme quilt. I started it 2 1/2 years ago, and slowly stitched all the blocks. All of this is needle turn applique. I saw this quilt in a quilt show and then saw the book at the library, and just loved it on many levels. Well, I checked out the book and would make about one block, then have to turn the book back in...and another lady was doing the same! So, we shared the book over the years, and at last, this top is pretty much completed!
This was one heck of a lot of applique!! The borders are sawtooth, hand appliqued as well. Much of the outer swag border is just pinned on and still needs to be stitched down, but the big thing is that it is all in one piece! Woohoo!! This back surgery thing has given me some time to finish up some "forever" projects, and I am so glad!I walked 3 miles this morning, and it was really foggy! and now is so nice and warm. Off to clean! and arrange some more in my quilting room. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

You did an exceptionally wonderful job on this quilt. Don't you just love needleturn applique? I find it so relaxing. It does take time, but who cares? The results are so worth it. Will you hand quilt it or machine quilt it (I've not read your blog long enough to know which you prefer doing.) Either way it's a prize winner for sure!
Congratulations - the rose swag applique is outstanding! Sounds like you're feeling much better, with all that walking.

It really is a beautiful top, and I agree...A LOT OF APPLIQUE, but so worth it.
I've given way to your challenge and showed my oldest UFO. Now I think I'll stitch it together and add it to the current orphan blocks quilt I'm making *VBS*

Wow, Julie--this is truly a masterpiece work so way to go on a near completion. Tons and tons of hand work.
Sounds like you are recuperating nicely from your recent surgery. Hurray for the 3 mile mark. I have been walking steadily for a year now and worked up from barely 1.7 to 3.08 and the past 3 days 3.3 miles in 62 mins. That is really enough since I go out 5 or 6 days out of 7. Let's cheer each other one, okay?
