I have started my churn dash blocks! Chooky is having a churn dash quilt along. I have mine all cut out, so the fun sewing is commencing. Yahoo! Are you making churn dash blocks along with us???????? Mine are 9 inches finished...fast to make!
I found this quilt on the internet. I love those smiling people...and love their quilt. Isn't this a fun crumb quilt? No mention of their names was given, so if this is you...please comment so we can honor you!

A very pretty pink churn dash, Julie. Yes, I am one of the 40 participants sewing along with Chooky, and on Saturday I made my 9th block. I am hoping to get a couple more sewn today, and then I will be caught up (I'm doing 41 blocks, I think, so this month is 11 blocks and I will do 10 blocks the other 3 months).
That is a really fun "world" quilt. I admire such creative work!
What beautiful fabric you've chosen, Julie. Will you go with pinks for the others or will you use a broader palette? I'm participating in Chookyblue's sew-along, too. I've finished eight blocks (only 8 3/4") and will make more this month. I don't have a definite plan for how many I'll need so I thought I'd make more early on.
If you enlarge that photo, you can almost read the name tag on the woman at the left. Mary Lee Nelson, maybe? And you can almost read the name of the organization - but not quite! Where did you see it? Pinterest - infamous for unattributed photos? Dot
I'm not participating in the Churndash SAL but it looks like it's going to be fun.
very nice...i too am churn dashing along...my first batch are tiny...4"
Great blocks. I love churn dash blocks. I wasn't aware of the Chooky SAL... I'll have to look at it.
(as if I need another project).
Looking great!
