Last Year's mystery quilt

I don't think I ever showed the mystery quilt all finished from last year on the blog, so here it is.  It is prettier than the pictures, full of a variety of fabrics and colors.

It is a monster quilt!
 At least king sized!!!

Anyone doing the mystery this year...the Quiltville mystery?

Beautiful, Julie. I swore of BH mysteries after On Ringo Lake. Too many pieces, too much pressure, too busy with the holidays.

that quilt is beautiful--and huge!! Nice work; i don't do mystery quilts--i find them stressful...at least if I know where I'm going and I veer off--I can feel in control,
I guess ;D--but I love seeing how everyone interprets BH's mysteries. Hugs, Julierose

HEY! You got that finished pretty darned quick! Very pretty. I always wait til the reveal on mysteries and most often I'm glad I did as I wasn't wild about the finish. Not to mention that I've slowed down (rather than speeding up) on quilting of late when I really NEED to be going 95mph if I ever plan on using up the stash! UGH

I've started it, but my plan is to do "some" each week and not hurry to make it. I, have other quilts to finish so this becomes an L/E. It took me almost 3 years to finish En Provence!

This is so pretty and spans the seasons with the glorious array of colors! Especially the bold reds for the Christmas season. I don't do mysteries anymore after beginning a particularly hideous one (not BH) and dropping out after three months. Was so glad I didn't persevere until the end! Still trying to get rid of those blocks!

Your version is striking, Julie. Each year I say I can sit out the mystery and each year I get caught up in the frenzy. I'm happy to say that I've completed all three clues. #4 comes tomorrow. I donated my version of Grassy Creek to the Zion Historical Society holiday raffle(they're raising money for badly-needed repairs). A neighbor won!

My only commitment to the "Mystery Quilt" is to watch all the ways people play with the color in and out of the suggested or starting color way. I love to see the variations in the color way and how many people go "off script" to create the same and yet so different quilt.

Your quilt is wonderful. I've done a few of Bonnie's mysteries and yes, I've got some big quilts. She makes things so fun.

That is a beautiful quilt and fabric choices. I am hoping to get back into quilting more, this year.
My heart breaks for all those who have lost so much in the tornadoes. It is wonderful though, how many are helping in different ways.

Your quilt is so pretty! I am glad you finished it! I made mine into two smaller quilts. Well, actually, I have one of the two sewn together up to the string outside border which I still need to sew and the other is still just blocks waiting to be sewn together. But we digress! I am doing this year's mystery too as I do most years. I have clues 1 and 2 done and clue 3 is halfway cut but not sewn. I hope to sew tomorrow. I love mystery season! My colors are a mostly following Bonnie's but I did stray a bit on the pinks and some purples have joined in the fun. :-) K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com

You say it is prettier than the pictures, but I think it is plenty pretty IN the pictures. How does it get prettier?? LOL

Amazing mystery quilt! I really like how you used a light where the grey was (in the pattern)... it gives a completely different look! I do the mystery every year so I'm deep into making QST blocks this week :)

your quilt is lovely..........I think you were off when Aus Jo @ ButterZ on my left sidebar was talking about it later in the day when she came back. She has started work on hers and asked if anyone was doing it........

King sized? Cool. I need to make a king size quilt now, since we're getting a king size bed next week. I don't have anything, quilt wise, that is anywhere near king size. I'll probably make something simple, since I need to get one made quickly. Bonnie's quilts are lovely, but they take lots of time. Yours is pretty! Enjoy it!

Lots of things going on!

Good morning, or evening to you!!!  I have been sewing pouches of different sizes, and I enjoy filling them with different things and giftin...
