This is from last year, a scrappy quilt, from a bag of little scraps. Again...love it!!!
And my alphabet quilt. This one goes to the kiddos.
I have finished the prep for all nine of these blocks...hurrah!!! I will applique the pieces down on the house tonight.
OH my. This old, old jacket, belongs to my dear husband. He loves it so much, and wanted me to replace the zipper.
So I did! It is so old...I bet forty years old, but it it is his favorite, so I fixed it for him. I can no longer get the stains out...he just wears it around the garage and house. Does your significant other have old, old clothes that they just love??
I recently received some amazing cookbooks! I love them, and have made several recipes from them. What is your go-to recipe for a fun evening meal at home???
And this book! This book is a great one. Full of fun, great information, and good ideas...it is one I highly recommend for anyone who wants to look and feel younger. I am re-reading it...a great book, so great, in fact, that I want my hospital to provide it to our heart attack patients. I will try to get them to buy it!! LOL!! But otherwise, I am going to buy a few to keep in my locker, to give to patients who need this info and are looking to make an amazing change in their health.
Have a lovely day,
Julie

Your new circle quilt is super fabulous! I love circles in quilts.
Cute quilts. You can't hand quilt everything. My hubby has some really ratty clothes that he still wears, from many years past. I will admit that a few items 'disappeared' over time.
Love your finished quilts, especially the scrappy one. A circle quilt is on my bucket list. Hubby has an old jacket from his late father, I had to replace the zipper last year. I think I have to 'disappear' one of his old T-shirts in near future!
The circles quilt is fun to see all the different fabrics and I love the applique blocks! Spaghetti using ground Italian sausage and adding red wine to the sauce is my easy meal, but the hubby is so picky, I don't get much encouragement to try new meals. (And when I do, they are met with hearty skepticism, at which point I have to invoke the two bite rule before he runs for the peanut butter!) As for clothing...sometimes things never make it back from the laundry basket because the hubby cannot discern where it is appropriate to wear holy, worn out clothing and where it is not. I know he grew up quite poor, but that is no excuse to go to your in-laws for dinner looking homeless! (We have made a good life for ourselves, so he has no real excuse to look like that ever, but I get the worn out stuff is comfy, too.)
Now I have to look at my circle quilt (which is going for donation) as it looks like you have more circles! And I ran across my 'vortex' style quilt pieces yesterday..someday it will get done! My DH had a HIDEOUS pair of shorts that he wore ALL THE TIME and I kept hinting it was time for them to go. I finally had to take matters into my own hands....HA! I don't know how you work AND get so much accomplished!!
Ummm, I’ll admit that I have a few iclothing items that are well past their prime, but I continue to wear them around the house. Love your “fresh from the quilter” quilts and the prepped appliqué blocks.
OMG ... that dot, dot, dot quilt is lovely! Makes me want to make one too!
I remember that feeling when newly-quilted quilts returned from CB's house (when I quilted by checkbook instead of doing my own on Max) - so very exciting!!! Hooray for you replacing the zipper - I do not enjoy that kind of sewing at all (even though I did it for years before I fell into quilting).
Oh Your beautiful quilts!!! I love them all!!! ( Keep Millie in Business haha)
My favorite go to meal is steak and salad - I guess I better expand my cooking skills!
Have not seen that book but will check it out - dad is a recovering heart patient - and I need to stay young for another 50 years to sew my stash!!!
How fun to get all those quilts back from the quilter! I have no illusions that I can hand quilt everything! LOL
Kudos to you for replacing the zipper. Hubby hangs on to ALL his old clothes, if I don't go through and weed them out. I try to do it as painlessly as possible. :)
A go-to quick meal we enjoy is curried rice, with fresh fruit and a steamed veggie on the side. Just made it last night, as a matter of fact. I make a large pan of brown rice and freeze it in recipe size portions, so we usually have the rice on hand.
All such lovely works!! I do love that scrappy one...
I NEED to make a scrap vortex quilt...to totally get rid of my scraps (if that is EVEN possible??) I keep finding more bags of scraps as I organize a bit into bins...some fabrics I don't even recall buying --that is SO BAD!! :(((
anyway (I digress as usual) ...
nice projects you've got going and done...
hugs for a happy rest of the week Julierose
Love your alphabet quilt! Circles are on my list here too.
My husband had a pair of gray sweats he wore and wore. After he died, I wore and wore them, then started putting patches on them. Now I'm thinking about sewing them inside another pair of old soft sweats to keep wearing them. There's nothing like them in the winter. And it is just nice to feel close to him. I hope your husband wears his jacket for another 40 years. =)
What a fun post. It is exciting to get quilts back from your quilter. I guess we have to pick and choose how we use our time. Your quilts are fantastic with all those different fabrics.
You sure have been productive!
All those quilts back from your quilter! I think my favorite is the alphabet quilt.
I've yet to tackle letters. It's awesome.
And your story about your husband's jacket made me laugh.
My husband does the same thing!
I'm impressed you remembered how to sew in a zipper!
;-))
Oh wow did you hand applique each circle in your quilt? I love it! And I see circles on circles too is this your own design? So great to get these quilted so you can enjoy them. Nice going Julie! Happy Sewing!
I love the circle quilt! You are a great wife for repairing that jacket. My husband has LOTS of clothes like that but I rarely offer to repair them.
I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
Amazing post. Informative, thanks for sharing.
