Since it is "Blue" month at So Scrappy, I cut a ton of 2.5 inch strips for two quilts that I have in mind...neither one of which are on my list to make this year...but hey!! No rules here, right? I did make a mistake and stood barefoot for hours and cut strips, since the weather was so nice and sunshiny and warm...but my hips and knees and back really were aching last night. I guess I will remember to wear my tennis shoes with my supports in them next time I go on a cutting binge!
With all the blue cutting, there were lots of tiny strings, too small to go in the string bin, so I made a couple coasters and put hearts on them too. That was fun!!
Hope each of you is having a lovely day!!

Lovely blue scrappy innovations! You are so very creative!
Been there, done that, ended up at the physio! I brought a Go Cutter, it take no time at all to cut strips and I also have a 2.5" half square triangle die that is gold for using scraps into useful blocks.
How cute your little coasters are! :) Loving all of the blue! I'm anxious to see your upcoming blue quilts.
Blessings...

The first blue block is very pretty. It will be interesting to see it go through all the colors. You made good use of the tiny little scraps with the coasters. Adorable! Enjoy the blue month. ;^)
I haven't heard the term penny squares in quite a while. I realize that the stamped embroidery blocks used to cost a penny in the store. Oh, to have those prices nowadays! I love redwork blocks.
Your blue coasters and your basket are both so cute. I too have been easily sidetracked to start new projects lately. I guess as long as we're having fun, it is perfectly all right.
I think your theme this month is hearts--love the blue heart block--
I have always thought of January as a Blue month as I have always displayed my snowmen in January and most of my quilts with snowmen on them are blue for some reason!!
I've often wanted to try putting scraps together like you did in the little coasters; now I know I'll try it before long. Yours are so very cute. I too have too many things whirling in my brain! Wanting to quilt, packing up Christmas, and music! I can't concentrate on anything long enough to accomplish anything! ---"Love"
On the end table to my right, my tea cup is sitting on the mug rug you gave me. I ❤️ it!
My back, knees and hips hurt after a long session of cutting, too.
That is a lot of blue scraps. Enjoy sewing them together.
Love the blue block with the heart. And the coasters are too cute.Great way to make use of all the scraps.
The coasters are cute. How did you make them?
You made a beautiful BLUE block and those scrappy coasters are such fun!!
Sweet Heart Block in light blues. Yes wear your shoes for all the standing, take care.
Love your blue heart block and the two small ones. Hearts are always welcome.
You don't waste a scrap! I love it!
Your scraps won't be sitting there long. You'll be stitching soon. Don't forget your tennis shoes!
I remember Penny Squares!
And it looks like you got right to the heart of the matter - of scraps! Cute coasters and Heart Block.
