Day Off on Monday!

I had a day off from work today, and I have just loved it.   I have cut out more blocks for this one...loving the diagonals here!!  And the bonus pinwheels are so much fun to me!
I have been collecting heart shaped rocks for a long time...here is my collection so far.  I would love suggestions about how to frame this collection?  I just put them all out on a piece of batting.  Like love...none of them are perfect hearts, but I enjoy them just the same!  Every walk, I look for heart rocks, and have for many years.
I received the best ever package from Kyle!!  She sent some of the prettiest pieces, already cut, to go in my postage stamp quilt!  Thank you so much, Kyle!!  Click HERE!!  One of these days...I will show you a finished quilt...LOL!

Hope you all are enjoying your Monday!!!

Julie

Heart shaped rocks. Don't think I have ever noticed any. A unique collection.

What about a shadow box frame that you lay flat like a table top? Or better yet, a small table that comes with a shadow box top. That way you could easily add more rocks as you find them . . .

What a sweet thing to collect, Julie. A gift of love from the earth and it doesn't cost you anything.
I like that shadowbox table idea, though I've never seen one.
Your quilt is delightful. I especially like the way the pinwheels are framed so they really stand out. Nice effect!

I agree with the coffee table idea. Would showcase them and keep them in order - and it would be easy to include future finds.

I saw your heart shaped rocks on FB before the Heart and Stroke walk this past Saturday. I went also, but had lots of fun taking photos of our Riverfront Park and Centennial Trail. So pretty! Did you get photos of your walk too?

I love the quilt! What is the pattern, or is it one you designed? I would love to make one!

I love your scrappy pinwheel quilt--so fun! My sister also collects heart shaped rocks, so I too try to keep an eye out when I walk. I've only found one for her though--I'm not such a good finder of hearts!

Great new quilt. The colors are bright and so cheerful. What a wonderful collection. You've seemed to have found quite a few hearts.

I love the diagonal too... and the fabric chose. Lovely golden yellows and that blue! WOW! The pinwheels are really the cherries on top. Lovely design. Your creation? In any case I love it. Happy to see you have really enjoyed your day off. Awesome rock hearts collection. Hugs! ;^)

I would do some kind of collage with the rocks. You could glue them on a table, tray or something like that.

My mother and I [as adults] collected heart shaped rocks and heart shaped seaglass. We had maybe 20 pebbles? She kept our collection in a Nantucket basket at the family home on Cad Cod. Sadly when she passed away, our treasures were discarded when the house was sold. I picture my sibling throwing them back into Cape Cod Bay and someone new finding our hearts and cherishing them. Silly but I'm sentimental like that.

Maybe a large shadowbox? Cover the background with fabric, hot glue the rocks in place. The glue won t ruin the stones, it peels off.The craft store Michael's sells shadow boxes of all sizes, or you could look inline.

Greetings!
