I have made more progress on this quilt.
The pinwheels are now extended out into the borders!
I just need some outer borders, and will call it a day...or a quilt!
I had a day off yesterday, so made apple pies...it is fall time! Except it is still 90 + degrees here...how about where you are?!
Have a wonderful day!
Julie

very nice looking quilt....
LOVE apple pie . . . it is in the 80s here and still somewhat muggy weather-wise. Darker in the am and darker in the pm . . . typical for fall. Like your quilt top!
I like the way that you finished the pinwheels in the border. Great quilt
Apple pie? Wish I could share a slice and a cup of tea with you some afternoon. ;o)
The border with the pinwheel extension looks great.
It's been cool and Fall-ish here for about three weeks. My lawn is littered with leaves.
Extending the pinwheels into the border looks great! We have transitioned into beautiful fall weather here, perfect for your apple pie! :)
You're making good progress - its just wonderful! And your pies look amazing! Its apple season here too - I'll soon have them on the dehydrator and on the stove for applesauce. Its still 90 degrees here - waiting for it to cool off so I can bake apples.
Oh, pretty quilt & clever of you to extend the pinwheels into the border.
Apple pies look delicious.
Weather here has been beautiful (to me) rain, rain, rain I Love my rain & grey skies after a long summer this feels just fine to me.
Debra in Ma..
Love how you extended those pinwheels out into the border. It looks great! Mmmm, apple pies.
Love the look of the pinwheels whirling out into the border. Beautiful top, Julie!
We are still in the 80s. My mind knows it should be Fall, but my senses don't believe it.
Your pies look yummy! I want to be making pear pie, but I still haven't found a gluten-free pie crust that is worth making. : (
I always like when blocks extend into the border. It takes away the straight lines and blends the inside with the outside. Mmmmm, apple pie is yummy no matter the temps. Okay, seeing your wonderful pies, I'm going to have to make one soon!
love this quilt! so pretty! Yes still warm here in Texas but looks like we have a bit cooler temps just around the corner!! Wish I had one of those apple pies!! :O)
Very cool idea to put the pinwheels into the border!
Dear Julie,
wonderful border solution, this is really smart and looks just great.
the apple pies look very delicious, we have fall here with a lot of wind. Blows the leaves around everywhere. Just like fall, but beautiful colors, love it.
Greetings,
Syliva
Love it! And the pies too! Home made apple pie is my favorite! It's supposed to be about 79 here in Oregon today and it's been in the 40s at night. The trees are turning beautiful colors!
Your quilt looks great, as do those pies.
Cool here today but not here in Georgia for long- leaving shortly with my adult daughter for London, England and an adventure of a life time! Hope I remember to download the the Turning 20 blocks for myself onto my iPad while I am over there! LOL! Mary Ann
I love borders that include a part of the quilt in them! Jacob's ladder is a fun block and quilt to make as there are so many ways to play with it! As far as temperature? Well over 100 here yesterday. It was still over 90 when I headed home from work last night about 8:30! It is supposed to cool down a bit this weekend, but it will be later in October when the temps are where we like them! I have a bowl of apples sitting on the island in the kitchen waiting for me to make pie of them. Yum! Can't wait to smell that cinnamon in the air!
I love this top with the pinwheels! It has so much motion and fun :0) Definitely not 90 degrees here. Our trees are almost bare for winter...
I love apple pie....with ice-cream.
I love this twist on Jacob's Ladder. Those pinwheels add an extra fun touch.
Hi Julie, I know I'm coming to this late, but I hope you see this. Loving this Jacobs Ladder with the pinwheels and how you are extending the pinwheels into the border. You've not given this quilt a name yet so is this your own design? Hope all is well with you - you've written of thyroid problems in the past. Follow you regularly as I love your posts including the nurses notes. Regards, Neame PS, no place for email address but we've emailed in the past: gapocard
I adore that quilt top!! Nice job! How can you bake when it is 95? Ugh. it has been so pleasant here. I hope your temps have gone down a little.
