In my cleaning today, I found the above little quilt. I guess I started it sometime in the past, but have no memory of it!! This, my dear friends, is how UFO's are born. So....I cut out all the rest of the pieces of a decent sized quilt for it today. Luckily, I still had some of the red left, in the solids stash. I have a small box of solids.
And my newest mug rug. Just using things up here!!
I feel like I am drowning in ideas here. Must focus, and STOP making UFO"s!! How about you? Does your stash and ideas and starts make you feel like saying,"Whoa!! Too much!"

You bet my ideas say "Whoa" to me, but then so do my UFO's LOL.
Besides, you used stash to finish that UFO off, so don't feel bad.
My larger quilt guild is having a challenge to finish our UFO's. We had to make a list of our UFO's that are at least 100" around, or larger. My list contained 28 items. So far, I've only completed 2 UFO's on the list. I'm working on another one, too.
My scraps are starting to take over my sewing room. It's time to get them under control.
I confess, I am stuck in that rut too! Luckily, since I don't have much time to sew, it calms my desires to start new things all the time. Instead of starting a new quilt today, I've made some sleepwear for my son, lol. Whatever!!
Haven't I seen a quilt similar to this one on your blog before? It looks very nice and I ♥ your new mug rug.
The little log cabin quilt at the top of this post reminds me of a quilt-a-long Lori over at Humble Quilts hosted sometime last year or maybe even the year before.
My stash was overwhelming and I've been trying to use it up (for donation purposes, at least) but then I still find myself seeing so much cute stuff I still wind up starting new stuff, too! UGH! But I have been finishing some..maybe that counts a little?!
More fabulousness! My quilting business keeps me from my scraps, but I get them out from time to time to say hello!
The quilt from the top of this post was a quilt-a-long hosted by Lori at Humble Quilts. It was called Mountain Trail from her October 2012 blog posts. I enjoy your blog and your nurses notes are so sweet and kind.
HI T-Dunc,
Actually it is made a little bit differently. I always wanted to try Lori's method, but did not participate...I need to look back at my own blog posts and figure out when I made it!!!
Love the log cabin! I recently had to clear my sewing room and reorganize TWICE in about 6 weeks. It was very difficult NOT to start something new! That's the main hazard of being a creative soul!
Well, some of us would never have a finished quilt if we didn't have a ufo or two first.:)
I know what you mean by the drowning. I have been feeling that way too. So many ideas and I am fast running out of years to accomplish it all.
I love our quilt! The red is the perfect touch!
I used to make lists so I would get as much done as possible. It was overwhelming. Now if I start a project I try and finish it at least to the Flimsy stage. This way I'm at least treading water and not drowning. I love your found treasure you found in your sewing room. Hugs
Absolutely! I NEED to get the UFOs done, but then I tend to get an idea for something new and I'm side-tracked again! And I agree with TDunc. I have one like it hanging on my wall right now and it was from Lori!
My UFOs and scraps overwhelm me as well! The problem is my sewing area is downstairs and it's cold down there and so I don't go down and work on them...I stay up where it is warm and hand piece on a current project!
That little quilt looks like Mountain Trail quiltalong.

POssibly? It is pretty darn cute and so is that mug rug!
That's exactly how UFOs are made! There's never a shortage of ideas and I suppose that's a good thing.
I thought I had my UFO's under control, then I did my between-Christmas-and-New Years cleanout. Whoops! Double digits! So, I am finishing one, and then I can do something else. Then finish one, then a new project...So far, so good. I finished an OLD UFO top this weekend and have plans to reward myself with a new baby quilt this week.
Dear Julie,
I am in awe of your speed here. How fast you finish up little quilts, and big quilts, and little projects and big projects. One prettier than the other.
Greetings,
Sylvia
Let the ideas flow and create lots of pretty UFO's now so that two years from now, you'll be inspired all over again, LOL!
I have to say "whoa" all the time...way to many ideas get me distracted from the projects at hand! You're really good about completing things though!
I really know what UFO's can do to you :-) I have so many that I lost counting! Lol :-) I am challenging myself and my friends to finish many of them, and it feels good to at least try :-)
