Would you believe it? I still have some crumbs left in the old pretzel tin!! I made these blocks, all straight edged pieces. ( I have a bag of curvey pieces...for another crumb quilt...someday) These blocks are kind of like the old mile a minute blocks, I think. I sewed the sashing and corner stones all together between last night and this morning. I love it!! In person, it has much more electricity than in the pictures.
A close up...the blocks are 6x8 inch finished, made of two halves 4x6 inch, of crumb pieces trimmed to size. Then I bordered each block, then made the sashing. I made two other corner stones and sashing sets before I settled on this setting!! So those will go into other quilts. Nothing wasted...
And the whole thing. I will finish it up with a bright scrappy binding, which is already made. Wheewwwww!! Now maybe I can think about the Bonnie Hunter Quiltville Mystery quilt!!! I am so up in the air about what fabrics, etc to use on that mystery...still thinking!!
Thank you for your kindness and wise words and prayers for me on my last post. Each of you mean the world to me...thank you for sharing your hearts.
Julie

Wow...you do the most amazing things with scraps! It's beautiful! :0)
What a wonderful quilt!
The setting you used for the very crumby scrappy blocks is a good one. It pulls everything together and gives a resting place for the eyes.
Love, love, love this scrappy beauty!
I always love your use of scraps!
Kristie
Wow, that came together quickly! Looks awesome!
Looks great, Julie! The sashing and cornerstones frame those fun blocks wonderfully! You sure are fast!
another beautiful quilt...........
Love your design! Love the scrappy-ness! Love it! FAAAAAABUlous!!
Your scrap know-how is incredible, Julie! This is wonderful and unique. The sashing and cornerstone treatment makes it shine!
Love those scraps!! And especially the way you did the cornerstones and sashing--beautimous! LOL
Your quilt from Jo is a Bucilla quilt kit. I went to look up the name and number on eBay, but could not find it. Then I forgot to come back and comment!! I believe the name of the quilt kit is Remebrance. I remember reading Jo' s post about this quilt & the great condition it was in. I have bought the kit (stored somewhere very carefully!!) and I bought one finished on eBay this summer. It is gorgeous & a different color scheme (German Pennsylvanian?). Hope you enjoy---you can probably find kit info looking under Bucilla.
Cute, just too cute. I have some really random crumb blocks on the go that are 6 1/2 " squares. they are so addictive. I too love your settings.
I love the way it turned out!
It is outstanding! Electric! The sashing makes the blocks sing and your quilts are always exciting. I especially LOVE this one!
Fun looking quilt.
Wow! What a fun quilt and all from scraps! that must feel good!
I missed posting to your last post...I would go for it. I've always worked where the heart and ICU pts were in the same unit and found reward in it. You can always float back if they need you in the heart unit :-) It will be nice for you not have to worry about keeping your shifts. Hope you figure it out and have peace about it. It's a challenging job.
And you sewed up this quilt between last night and this morning? no sleep?
P.S. Can't wait to see what fabric you choose for Bonnie's Mystery. still thinking about it too :-)
I agree with Karen. The sashing is perfect for all of those scraps. It does give your eye a place to rest and the square in a square cornerstone looks like a jewel pulling all those colors together. Great pick.
I was admiring this quilt on FB! Love it! I am in the process of a new crumb quilt myself!
Nothing short of spectacular!! You are such an inspiration to other scrap quilters. I can't wait to get settled for the winter and get to work!!
What a beauty. I know you'll enjoy this one for years to come. Thanks for sharing.
Terrific scrap/crumb quilt -- LOVE IT!!!
This is a gorgeous quilt and almost makes me want to dig into my scraps! Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a hand piecing quilt that has a deadline, so this one will have to wait! Thanks for sharing!
Very pretty quilt. Great way to use up your scraps.
Such a great quilt top! So scrappy and fun. You are so creative with your scraps!
I think I'm making this quilt someday. I really love it!
I've never seen anything like it. Very thrifty and very attractive. What a good way to use up all those scraps.
