Yahoo!! The Easter Egg quilt is quilted!! I just love the texture and fun that quilting adds...love, love!! Rosie loves it too, and just would not dream of getting off the quilt. She really, really likes this one, she told me...
I put the binding on today, and will savor the hand sewing of the binding down.
The glamour shot...what is a poodle to do but stake her territory??
****************************Nurse's Notes*****************************
I am precepting a new graduate nurse. I get a new one every six months, just when the nursing schools around here graduate their new nurses. This sweet lady is amazing!! She is much younger than my son, and just sweet and darling as pie. And super, super smart...love that part!! She will be an amazing nurse when she gets experience. And...she has compassion and a heart for the patients. I can teach all the skills in the world, all the ACLS skills and medication administration...but I cannot teach love for the patients. That...the new nurse brings with her. I am so blessed to teach her, and learn so much from my students as well!!
I think I have taught right around 100 nurses, either experienced or new ones...of course the new nurses go through an internship...the experienced nurses just need a few weeks/days to know where everything is, and to learn the charting. So I have reproduced myself a lot of times over!! Just musing about this...I look around and many of the younger nurses around? I taught them!! Weird...I am getting old, ladies and gents!!

Have a great day, everyone!!

A beautiful quilt Julie. Love and caring is such an important ingredient in anyone in the medical profession or any profession for that matter. Too bad we don't have more of it and eliminate wars.
It's gorgeous and seems to have a new owner already!
I'm sure you are a fantastic teacher... must feel great to know all the lives you have inspired!
She just knows that pink and black go well together!
What a happy, happy quilt! Rosie has good taste! : )
I think people in that hospital are lucky that someone like you has influenced so many to be caring, effective nurses!
Your dog knows how to find a pretty quilt!
Such a pretty quilt full of cheer!
What a wonderful legacy you will leave in nursing. And, many of those nurses will go on to train the next generation!
Well, I think we know who this quilt belongs too! lol A wonderful finish Julie! Love it! And also how wonderful to help so many young nurses on their way. I am sure your example of compassion and care for your patients is inspiring!
Your quilt is wonderful! Thank you for being such a great inspiration and example for the new nurses just starting out.
Your quilt is beautiful! I know what you mean about all the young nurses coming in.... when they start to be younger than my own children, I keep thinking it's time to retire. ;)
Teaching is gratifying! Glad that you have taught and trained so many new nurses because patients need a caring health team with a compassionate and knowledgeable nurse at the lead.
Love that Rosie - she has great taste in quilts.
The quilt is so pretty! The quilting looks great for that pattern too. What did you do before Rosie? So nice she has a forever home:)
Another winner Julie, and Ms. Rosie looks like she approves too! Did you do the quilting? Love the texture it creates! You are a great mentor - fun to step back and see all those lives influenced by you! Well done!
Umm I think your quilt has been claimed! I love it. How fun you get to teach in your nursing profession too. I'm a teacher, middle school and secondary school. So many kids I've taught have gone on to become teachers. When they've come back to work with me, at the school they attended, I've felt really old! And that it was time for me to change schools and revamp a bit.
