You can tell when I have been working and not home!

I have been at work the last two days, so just silence and no blogging/quilting at all!!  I used to be able to cook a meal and clean and go for a walk, etc., after work, but now?  I am just exhausted!!  Not getting older, am I, LOL!?  I was rooting around in the storage closet again, and found these blocks I made last year.  All the fabric for setting the blocks was already cut out and ready to go...what in the world was I thinking to just put it in the closet and forget it?  So...I got the blocks all together with starry sashings and presto!  A little autumn quilt top is born!!  Hey, all these cinnamon fabrics are from a SINGLE FABRIC LINE!  Except the yellow stars and the cream.  That is quite unusual for me, as I really don't buy stuff like that normally.  I think it is Jo Morton spice...She comes often to our local quilt shop...once I got to see her as she was turning a corner in the shop...so that was my brush with quilting fame, LOL!!
My precious Rosie...I love that baby dog!!  She is getting better about posing for me...I need to add some density to this picture...she is coal black, not washed out like that!!  (with a few gray hairs, but who's counting them?)
I am trying to get some little Christmas presents done.  I have two sisters to make these little stitcheries for.  I had some rickrack from days of yore, and put it on there too.  One down, one to go!!  They are really both so talented as seamstresses...I hope these are OK enough for them!!
And just for fun...this is about six feet long, and is 4.5 inches wide.  Just stringing along...fun, fun, fun!!  Chinese coins, anyone?  Or a border?  I am really, really, really trying to use every little piece of fabric I have bought or been given...wish me luck, and a long, long life, LOL!!

Have a great day, everyone!!  Anyone going to see the movie "Gravity"?   I heard on the movie review that is was supposed to be good...don't know personally yet!!

I'm sure your sisters will love it! I should make one similar from my Polka Dot Girls quilt. It is of 2 sisters, one with a cat (my sister) and one is embroidering (that would be me). Are you making yours into a wall hanging? I wouldn't know what to make it into as my sister doesn't think she has any room on her walls for anything else. It would have to be a bag or something, I guess. Oh, BTW, I love your FQ & vine quilt. Looking great!

Love your star quilt. I'm very bad about finish the blocks and tucking them away myself.

Your stitching is so cute.

Ohhh, I love your stars quilt, Julie. The colors are beautiful and I especially love the golden stars in the sashing. I've been seeing sashing stars lately and want to use them in a quilt. One of these days.

I think you get more quilting done on a working day than I do when I stay at home! I love the colors of Jo's Spice line. I just wanted to breath in the scent of exotic spices as I first looked at them in a quilt shop--and then bought about 2 FQs, I think. My wallet was in control of that decision. : )
That is a very pretty star quilt you have created from them.
What cute little stitchery you are making for your sisters. Good enough? Seriously? You know it is!!!

Goodness gracious, you must not apologize for leading your busy life!
When I saw that string pieced "snake" on your carpet, all I could think of was that maybe you were going to cut it with curves and then applique it down as one of your Goose Vines, LOL!
OMG! you saw Jo Morton? Can I have your autograph???

LOVE that "cinnamon" fall quilt. The star-like sashing is fantastic. Good job and how nice to find in a closet an unfinished project that is SO near to completion!!!

Stars with stars makes a good quilt. And not a single string among them!

What a fun surprise to find in your closet! What terrific fabric for a fall quilt.
I'm sure your sisters will love the stitchery wall hanging- it is lovely!

I really enjoy your posts. Not a nurse but like to read about your work. The long strip remains me of a quilt I made from the scraps from a shirt factory. I called it Chinese laundry.

Honestly I can't believe how much you get done for a working lady!
Fall quilt is perfect and love those setting stars.
Get those Christmas pieces done for your sisters, I had two sisters too and one is gone already. Time goes too fast and you never know what will happen next! What great gifts they will make, I'm sure they will be thrilled with the love that goes into them.

Happy Sewing

Beautiful fall quilt! Glad you 'dug it out'. LOL I love the stitchery you made for your sister. Is it a Red Brolly design?

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
