Strings put together

I was delightedly putting these blocks together (really a lot of fun to work with strings), with the connector corners added, and decided that this was the day! I needed to finish them into a top, and I did...this is what I came up with. This will be hand quilted with dark thread, and red thread through the white strips. I am just so close on batting on the right side...will have to put a larger binding, and that is just fine for a cuddle quilt for the couch.

Have a super wonderful day!

Julie

Very nice setting! I"ve made two string quilts so far. My basket of strings is growing, almost ready for another...I might try your setting.

This is the best string quilt arrangement that I have ever seen! I love how the white forms the squares. Wonderful quilt!

I got the pattern in the mail yesterday. Thanks!!

Very pretty string quilt. I love how the white stripe comes together with the bright colors. I have made a couple of string quilts, but without the white stripe.

I love it...I've never made my squares with the one strip the SAME in each......and it looks so nice done that way as it forms that diamond pattern you got with the white strips. GREAT job!

You clever girl, you. Funny how just the slightest change from an original plan can make such a difference. What a great use of your scraps, and how lovely it is now. 8-)

A good use of your "strings". The white stripes make a good pattern within the quilt & draw all the variety of prints & colors together.

That really turned out lovely! You know, I have so much binding left over strips. Hum..... Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Your quilting is gorgeous. Have been reading your blog and looking at all your work. Love the idea you did with your sewing room clean out. I need to do this.
I saved you so I can find you again.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get here.

What a skillfully executed - freakin' fun quilt! Even I feel it calling me to hand quilt it and I haven't heard that call in quite some time!

Hi Julie, it's a wonderful string quilt. And the quilting is going to make it just perfect *VBS* I love the design idea using the white where you did. Big hugs, Finnie

I just popped on over from Finn's blog! What a great Strings quilt! Love it! 8-)
You've got some real lovelies on your blog! I see you've got the X-Bag pattern also. I've made several of them, and just guided the ladies in one of my groups through their first X-Bag experience... Pattern can be confusing, so read over a few times before you making one...
Happy stitchings! 8-)

That string quilt is bright and happy, and the quilting will make it even prettier!
