Remember this one? The sampler above? Well...it is finished! Please, Finn, count me for a finish! It even has the hanging sleeve on it...whoops, no label, but will have it on soonest. I hand quilted it, and it was such a pleasure to work with. The batting is from Darcie of October's Child quilting. It is made of corn fibers! And I can say, it hand-quilts like a dream. I call it corn silk batting, but it is made of cotton and corn fibers. Green batting! (not the color, but the concept) Thank you to Darcie for letting me have a little bit to play with. I will wash it and report on the shrink factor, but it is stable and yummy soft and drape-able.
Here is another little bit of fall creeping in! DH found this one and got it for me. This little scarecrow is so cute to me, with a sweet expression. The fall season is one we really look forward to and enjoy, for the cool temperatures and harvest times. *******************************work******************************************
I took a heart today. Which means I recovered a heart bypass patient fresh from the operating room to our unit. A thankfully stable patient. Busy today! The fall and winter seasons are so very busy at hospitals, with people waiting for beds.

What a darling little Sampler! Good for you! And thank you for reporting on the corn batting. I just used up the last of it in the king sized Delectable Mountains.

I love your quilt! That batting sounds interesting, I can't wait to hear how it holds up for the shrinkage test. Yes, fall is coming here too. They say by the weekend that it will be very chilly at night and cooler days.
I think your sampler quilt turned out great! I can't wait to hear how the new batting performs. I'm always a little leery of new battings - I'm never confident that they are really tested thoroughly.

It's such fun to see quilters experimenting with different fibers . . . just like our foremothers, we must learn to find and use what we have available. The quilt turned out wonderful *s*

Your Sampler quilt is just fabulous! Please let us know how that batting washes up. Did the batting tend to cling to your top and batting or did it slide around like poly battings like to do?
I am intriqued by the batting you used! The quilt is beautiful. I think that scarecrow is adorable, and your DH has very good taste. After all, he married you!!

Thanks for the info on the corn/cotton blend batt-I've been thinking of trying it. The sampler quilt looks great-I love the sashing-I did the same thing on a King David's Crown quilt-it adds so much.
