By the way, I discovered that plaids are tough to work with in a border. The plaid is quite stretchy, woven and not printed fabric. I measured so carefully at least 4 times each way to get an exact border fit, and was very careful not to pull or stretch the fabric in any way. No matter how carefully I would straighten my edges with the rotary cutter and cut exactly on the grain, the plaid pattern was off...by inches! So, I cut the red plaid border by hand with scissors...not on grain but with the plaid pattern. Then I sewed the strips together, matching the plaids. My Mom would be proud! She was such a great seamstess, I wish she were here to enjoy all this quiltyness going on these days.
Yum! I made my dear husband a cherry pie...also an apple pie. I got the cherry too full, good thing I put it to bake on a drip pan. I love to cook and bake, wish I could have just a little more time! Maybe someday...
Hope everyone has such a wonderful day today!!

Very good job on the Orange Crush. I did not participate but have enjoyed viewing the ones I have come across.
Pie looks mighty good!
Congratulations on getting your OC together! It does look like a great fall quilt. Mmmmmmm for the pie!
I am soooo impressed with your plaid border! All that work was well worth it. The quilt is beautiful! I love all the colors.
The pie looks scrumptious, too! Is there nothing you can't do?
Love the quilt top Julie, and oh boy that pie looks so yum.
Gorgeous quilt, really ! How will you quilt it ?
Your orange crush quilt looks awesome. The colors are wonderful, so warm and cozy. A great quilt to snuggle under when the days start to turn colder. Let's all share that yummy looking pie to celebrate ;cD
Cherry pie is my fav! and yours looks so yummy good. I somehow ended up with bias on the edge of the quilt I'm currently working on and am facing the challenge of stay stitching around the edge of it. I am considering stay stitching onto adding machine tape to keep the stretching to a minimum. O my.
Your OC is absolutely gorgeous!!! Fabulous job and congratulations on pushing through to the end. 2 qute 2 b a ufo!!!
Beautiful Orange Crush. I love your color choices.
Love your OC quilt, Julie! And your borders are terrific...well worth all of the painful effort! Yes...your Mom would be VERY proud. My Mom too is a seamstress...and she is quite the perfectionist on plaids and stripes. Won't even purchase a garment that has poorly matched lines.
Terrific looking pie! Bet your house smells wonderful! Did you and your DH get to sit down together and enjoy some tasty coffee and pie?!
Hugs to you!
I love your quilt! The plaids look wonderful. I always love to see that plaids in quilts but I'm always afraid to work with them because of having to line it up.

Your cherry pie is making my mouth water! If there was a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top I think I'd be eating my computer screen!
Your fabric choices for the orange crush couldn't have been more perfect. Your balance of lights, mediums and darks really showcases the complex piecing design. I think this is one of the best tops I've seen from this mystery.
Wow! What a great pattern. I love how yours came out. Yeah!!!
Good going.
Can I have soem pie by the way?
Yummy Sweet Love, *karendianne.

Mmmm, the pie looks wonderful! And your OC is absolutely stunning!
Hi Julie, love the Orange Crush quilt, such a warm colour. I had a similar problem with a border on a Japanese Quilt, I made for a 21st birthday. In the end, I took the borders off and ironed on stabliser. It worked a treat. Cherry pie, looks yum, never tasted Cherry pie. Warmest Regards Lyn
At the risk of sounding just like everyone else: Julie, what a lovely quilt! A mystery quilt is such a step of faith, don't you think? The plaid border is gorgeous.
Finished quilt is so "Fall Looking". Makes you want to crawl under it with a book and read or dream yourself to another place and/or time. Keep up the great work in the quilting dept. as well as the kitchen.
May this week bring many pleasant surprises.

It looks great....is it going to get a comfy flannel back??
Great job on your Orange Crush - and it's done ... wow!! And that pie looks delic!
This is one of the most stunning quilts I have seen in a long time. You're amazing!
I'm not much of a pie maker. My husband LOVES pie. I just don't like doing it much and my crust isn't great. My mom would always make my husband pies. I found out a few months ago before my mom died she asked my sister (who is a great pie maker) to make my husband pies because she couldn't any longer. I thought that was sweet. My sister (before she moved) would show up with a pie every now and then for my husband and I didn't know why.
I love the quilt. The pattern is so intricate. Lovely job.
Ooooooooo, I think that your Orange Crush might be my favorite one so far. It looks so warm and inviting!
Hi Julie, your Orange Crush looks wonderful, and I agree. It has a definitely autumn "feel" to it *VBS*
It turned out very well! Mine is still "in progress"...in other words, "parts"....LOL
I'm sure your Mom is just a smilin' away up there in Heaven and bragging to ALL the angels about her talented daughter.
The pie looks delish! Cook over just make it look even better. Great job on both! Hugs, Finn

Your OC quilt is gorgeous! Congratulations! It does have a fall look to it and it's beautiful!
WOW! I'm so proud of you! ;o) Nice quilt! I do like the colours! Next time you work with plaid, starch the fabric. It makes it easier to work with. Any pie left? lol Keep well!
Your Orange Crush is lovely!
So is that Cherry Pie...yum!
looks great. You're right about the orange crush- it is very fall-ish. Someday the historians will be saying that these quilts are an unexplained craze...smile
