Back from the Hospital

Hi Everyone!

I have had an adventure! On Wednesday, the 13th, I had back surgery on my L5-S1 disc, which was herniated beyond all repair. I had a partial disc removal. The surgeon said that there was lots of bad disc fragments to be taken out, and these fragments were pushing againest my spinal nerves, and was the reason for my severe leg pain and debilitation. so yahoo!! no more leg pain and no more limping. Just incisional pain! and hopefully that will go away soon. I have a line of staples down my spine, kind of looks creepy...I came home the 14th, Valentine's day evening.

I just want to say thank you for all you sweet people who are so supportive and have sent so many kind messages to me. I am blessed to know you all! Thanks again to all of you.

Julie

I have apways heard that people with back pain experience so much relief after surgery that the pain from the incision is no big deal. Glad everything went well and that you are recovering.

Hi Julie,
So glad to hear that all has gone well! I am sure you will be getting back to your normal routine sooner than you think. For now just rest and recuperation.

Hope you make a fast recovery. Isn't it amazing how they can fix up your back and then just staple you back together!!

So happy that your surgery went well and you will be able to get around now. Do you have some hand stitching to do while on the mend?

Hope you are healing quickly and pain free! It amazes me how staples are used in surgery.

Nurses back Julie? Hope it heals quickly - how much time off work will you need?

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
