I've found that the fabrics that 'don't match' in a scrappy quilt are nearly always the blocks that make it come alive. I have a mess of Churn Dashes where I went 'wild' with a few blocks, and yes, they are the best ones. I just went through my list that I made in Jan, I crossed off 3 as completely finished, and moved 5 over to the "needs quilted" list, and then pulled out a Christmas top this a.m. and spent 10 minutes putting it on the design wall. Reading my list made me aware of this project and it too, is very close to going over to the "needs quilted" list.
