Despite the challenges at home and at work, I am still loving my nursing field. I am the second oldest in my unit. The "kids" treat me like that too, which is disturbing, until they need an IV started or NG tube placed, or difficult foley. Then I am worthy! Snort!
I wonder what my purpose is in this life. Do you even ponder that? Why am I here? Why are we here?
Too heavy of thought for the blog, for sure, but I do wonder. Do you???

I wonder often. No one tells you about the insecurities that come with middle age/late middle age. My quilting friends are supportive and thru them I find validation. Wondering how your husband is doing? Suzanne
Julie you got a lot done on the quilting front! I leave those tough questions to God. We have to the older we get.
I hear you! We see so much as nurses, it becomes very hard when your heart is in it. I was particularly struck by “the kids.” I experienced that too after 25 yrs as a hospital RN. It takes experience and compassion to become a real nurse. I’ll take an experienced RN for my NG, IV, and foley!! It’s even harder when it’s your family who is the patient. My thoughts are with you! Love to see your posts and your projects. Hang in there, you are making a difference. And keep quilting!!

Wow, Julie, you have been very busy. Lovely selection of quilts. I particularly like the second one. It is an interesting looking design. Is there a pattern or did you make it up? In regards to your philosophy question, I think your long career as a dedicated nurse shows you have made a difference in many people's lives.
