Above is a jelly roll quilt start. We were discussing using precuts, and this one is a fast and fun quilt to make. The pieces are 2.5 by 3.5 inches, then sewed together in connector corner fashion. This is FUN!!!

My life has been absolutely consumed the past while with work, and the biggest thing: My husband had a knee replacement. He was declining so much in his ability to walk and function. He made the decision to undergo a knee replacement. He is now ten days out, and still in a lot of pain. I am staying home, and my nursing job now only has one patient 24/7....him! He is able to walk, uses his walker, and we are taking short walks outside now. He also is having therapy 3 times per week, plus my therapy too. He has a private nurse!!
Hope each of you is enjoying your summer/winter time!!

hope he is better soon...i've talked to many who say that is a tough recuperation...i am not a surgical candidate and my knees are painful too so either way not fun...
Sending good vibes to your hubby that his recovery goes well. A 3 cheers to you for providing private nursing care for him. It's a challenge for both of you with hopefully a good result.

The jelly roll quilt is going to be so cute! I hope your husband feels better soon!
Julie :-) such lovely quilty projects! Sending prayers and good thoughts to you and your hubby. Knee replacements are tough! Been there, done that! It was miserable for me but eventually I got through it. Don't overdo any exercise would be my advise. Slow, gently and steady actually does it better. Samantha Smith PT has great tips. Wish I'd found her during my recovery. I would have been a lot better off. Hang in there! (heart emoji)
I meant to add...Samantha Smith is on IG and FB and YouTube. A wealth of knowledge actually there in Texas :-)
So good to have you back! Love your projects! I'm going to try the jelly roll pattern for my next project - once I recover from shoulder replacement surgery 4 weeks ago. I hope that your hubby starts to see some forward progress / less pain soon!
I've missed your posts, Julie. Glad your husband's recovery is going well. Those look like a great scrapbusting block.
Spring Showers is a very happy looking quilt.
I love the Barn Stars you and Annie are making. Really great blocks!
Oh, being a "private nurse" has its challenges. Hope hubby starts feeling better very soon!
