I find it's easier to use. On minis I'll use single fold binding and sometimes straight cut. If I'm using jelly rolls I'll use the straight cut strips. Currently I'm attempting to use a narrower binding - 2" or 2-1/4" instead of 2-1/2". Always learning. Always willing to try something different GO STARS!https://www.blogger.com/profile/00870310135874205293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758475602275745268.post-78430347894175797192017-06-04T22:43:33.231-05:002017-06-04T22:43:33.231-05:00I'm a double fold basis binding kind of a gal ...I'm a double fold basis binding kind of a gal on big or small pieces, but I will occasional make straight of the grain binding depending on the fabric. I've found single fold binding a lot more challenging. I like having the folded edge being my stitching edge. It keeps it smooth and even and I like the feel of the slightly thicker edge.Kylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04492645548495218076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758475602275745268.post-8236553587797513072017-06-04T15:55:11.843-05:002017-06-04T15:55:11.843-05:00I have only ever used single fold on mini quilts, ...I have only ever used single fold on mini quilts, simply to reduce bulk.

I alway use double fold straight binding, because it is easier and I don't normally have curved edges. I am told that double fold binding will last longer. Plaids and stripes are fun in bias double fold, but I've made those only rarely. Single fold I find harder to do! And bring the backing to the front just plain annoying!AnnieOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06619125197850685345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758475602275745268.post-2129820013532812672017-06-04T05:37:16.249-05:002017-06-04T05:37:16.249-05:00I so love this quilt. On bias or straight on, I have always done two folds because I thought that the way it was done. I have discovered that we can do single fold binding and I am still experimenting it. I can say that so far I still prefer two folds as it makes the edge puffier. It's true that for curves, bias is best. Love the newest blocks. ;^) Chantalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14772079099766225814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758475602275745268.post-30314524294938480802017-06-04T05:26:09.787-05:002017-06-04T05:26:09.787-05:00Very pretty! The single fold is lighter and easier to hold in place as you work. I only cut bias binding if I'm doing curves. I've never had any trouble using straight binding on my quilts and actually think the corners are crisper using straight binding. I know we are all different but this is what works for me.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14423024947233260195noreply@blogger.com
